COPE Act (HR 5252) : This is a crisis for the internet

The left foot
09-06-2006, 20:48
"Congress is pushing a law that would abandon the Internet's First Amendment -- a principle called Network Neutrality that prevents companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast from deciding which Web sites work best for you -- based on what site pays them the most. If the public doesn't speak up now, our elected officials will cave to a multi-million dollar lobbying campaign."

The NRA, Christian Coalition of America, the ACLU, and Democrats.com all agree on something. Never thought I would see the day, but short of someone on the payroll of the Telecom industry I can't see why anyone would want this passed. If it stays in the backround it will thought. It passed in the house. Comments?

It already failed. The internet is now owned by companies who dont need anymore money. And this is why I hate politicians. Because they are absolutely fucking clueless.
