This person had her Sidekick stolen by some idiots and is now getting back at them. Her popularity is soaring (if you read the thing, you'll see she's getting offered interviews), and I support her cause.

Go read.

Indeed. Nice Story.

But since the guy apparently gave an address, she could scope it out. Assuming the house in the picture is the same address, she would have no problems locating it. And if she can prove the Sidekick is hers, she can involve the local police.

Personally I don't think the 16 yr old girl, who did a stupid thing, and grew up in a different environment and yes many people have a different idea about stealing should be getting all this exposure. She is only 16, and really I am surprised if a lawyer could not find a way to defend her on the basis she is underage and receiving all this exposure, and even retaliate on the basis of all the negative attention she is getting.

The stolen Sidekick (a material item) may end up a lot less of a crime than bringing so much exposure and chaos to this girl's life.

The girl who is reporting her and running the site and doing all this probably is thinking "hahaha, I got the bitch back, don't mess with me." I don't know what she is thinking though.

I'm thinking the stupid girl should have given the phone back immediately to its rightful owner. Or maybe I'm just being silly...

True, but you have to step back and look at it.

If you take revenge by committing an even bigger crime than the original crime, then the person taking revenge can be faulted as well.

The girl should have let the police handle it, not posted the girls pictures, practically her identity, location, and everything on the Internet to get revenge.

The "victim" taking revenge states the following on her webpage "Been crazy.. Another 900 emails... 6 radio stations interview requests (still no TV...isn't my mug pretty enough for TV??) Maybe they're afraid the people below will steal the camera or something)"
Its obviously become something else for her.

Sidekicks are retarded, but whatever, more power to her.

Damn, I thought someone had robbed Bruce Wayne's house and absconded with Robin. How disappointing.

I think this response is appropriate. It's time that criminals and assholes (of which the 16 yr old is both) deserve to be held accountable for their actions.

Maybe because the girl who stole the phone is racist and made threats against the owner even when a reward was offered for the return?

Maybe becuase she used stolen property to make her information public?

Maybe because the story has changed from finding to buying to not having?

The "environment" nonsense is just an excuse. Just seeing an episode of Sesame Street w/ her kid would teach them otherwise.

The pictures and information stored in the phone belong to the phone owner. She can make them public if she wants.

I dont think that works. How can you sue for distress caused to you by the media if you commited a crime which in turn lead to your media involvement.

I think it's fabulous. People who steal should be punished, and this is just the sweetest kind of punishment.

Oh, and the person who is updating the website is a guy, and the reason why he was upset about not being on TV is that he's a model. If you look at the frontpage of his website, it's really obvious D:.

Yes well in a higher ethical sense you should realize what is going on, the girl is probably not racist, and yes environment does affect people. She is only 16, I mean cmon.

Yes 16 year olds can be bad, but obviously a product of the environment they grew up in and are still influenced by. It is wrong and a greater crime to bring this chaos into her life, and to publicize it in such a way.

I have nice things too, I would not do that if someone stole something of mine. I would file a stolen item report, not post pictures of the people all over the internet, etc.

The attitude of this male model reporting them borders on arrogance, and he is definitely doing this for a lot of attention and because he loves attention. Otherwise he could have filed a stolen police report and let it be. He is just digging the attention, trust me, I read the entire page.
