Does this happen to anyone else?

Not bad

Do you ever type a long post then click the submit button only to see a login page appear because you spent so much time typing that you are no longer logged in? If this has happened to you doncha just hate it when your long post has turned into a memory never to be seen by you or anyone else ever again?

Sometimes I try to rewrite the posts but but mostly I wont.. It just doesnt feel the same writing a post the second time around is all.

If you write a particulary long post, why don't you copy it. Then you wont lose it because you can just paste it again if things go wrong.

No, just you. Clearly you've done something to deserve this.

It is Gods way of showing displeasure with me. I see this now

No. I never put that much effort into posting.

Not any more. What I do now is open another forum window in a tab, relogin on that window and then post. And the copying your post into the clipboard is never a bad thing.

Yes. You must atone by publicly flogging yourself. In the nude.

Nah. The Lord wants you to to keep your posts short.

Mmm... rarely. However when I do make a long post and click submit and it requires me to log in again, my message usually appears after I log in. I dunno, tis weird.

You've mistaken me for someone who thinks ahead.:p

Yeah, sometimes. However, I always make sure to copy a really long entry just to be safe. Fortunately, you can usually hit the back button on the browser to return to the post and copy it but it's always best to copy before posting.

If you're writing something long type it in notepad, or word, or something. Copy-paste it in.

Or, just copy it all to the clipboard before you hit "submit". If you have to log in again then you just paste from the clipboard and voila.

Anyway, I thought that if you logged in it just carried on where you left off..ie it posted your post.

Click the back button in your web browser until you move back from login page to answer the post page...The post you have written doesnt disappear.

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes.

Usually if its really long and I'm proud of it, and I realise I've been online for a while, I will copy it and paste it again.

But every now and then I forget to copy, or copy over it or something, and it can potentially ruin several minutes of my day.

Always do. Every time I go all Opus Dei on myself. It just isnt a self flagellation unless it is in public and out of clothing.

Not for me it doesnt seem to.

Id use firefox and autorefresh every few minutes except the site has enough slowness issues without me wasting bandwidth.

As others have said.

Log in, when you need to, then just use the back function to go back to your lovingly constructed post, and submit it.

You know, actually on Firefox I never have the problem. Also, the forums run noticeably faster than on Internet Explorer or other browsers.
