In reference to the significance of this day...

I did a Google search to see what manner of hoopla was being made about the numerical significance of this day. IE 6/6/06 or 666 (the neighbor of the beast being 668; he gets no recognition), it seems most towns such as in Michigan called Hell are gearing up for celebrations.

Now what the purpose of this post is, is to ask if anyone else can tell me if these people here (http://www.landoverbaptist.org/news0606/666.html) are kidding. If they aren't, then this whole thing is getting out of hand. If they are, well, they sure got me good! Of particular interest was this passage.

6. You might decide (as many Christian families in need have before you) that it is best just to sell your child to the cause of Creation Science. Our laboratory and research center will pay $18 a pound (17 cents a pound for mixed race infants) for any child under the age of 6-months. In making this decision, you can rest assured that you are doing something for the cause of Christendomâ„¢. Your family will be helping Creation Scientists better understand Satan's handiwork in early childhood development. This greater understanding will better prepare us in case (God forbid we'd have to suffer) there is a post-tribulational Rapture. If that is ever the case, the more we know about the enemy, the better.

Please tell me this is a joke. And btw, there's a link to click on in the quoted passage. If these people are serious, they have some of the craziest 'Jesus is watching you' stuff i've ever seen.

Yep, Landover Bapist is a huge joke. It's kind of like the facetiously religious version of The Onion.

:headbang:

666 is a fjorking political commentary on Emperor Nero! NOTHING MORE! Freaking ignorant Christians...ugh! If anything, people should recognize the REAL significance of this day: the 62nd anniversery of the D-Day Invasion. People should be saluting the bravery of the Allied troops and the valient, if somewhat evil, sacrifices of the German troops, not worrying about a fucking religion.

Hey, man. Hey. Hey. We're not expected to, like, know this stuff or anything. My Lord, what DO you expect them to be teaching us in those dangfangled colleges these days?

You must chill! You must chill! I have hidden your keys!

I find it great that it was 12 years ago today that Lara got his 501 not out. You see? 12.... 6 and 6... Brian Lara is the Devil!

Landover Baptist Church is a satire website, but if you check out their forums you'd think the poster are serious.
