Its summer and all, and summer seems to be the part of the year when everyone spends time outside. So what activities do you do outside? This includes any gardening, sports, hiking, camping and anything else you can think of.

Personally I love to go camping, so I do that pretty much every weekend. I also hike, and play various sport(not with like an official team, just with buds), like soccer, football, baseball, and frisbee.

I'm stuck with working non-stop since the last 24 months and it seems it won't be this summer that I get some time off  But if I had the chance I'd spend a lot of time relaxing on a pristine beach and reading on the countryside...ah, the good old days...

Mmm BBQ...speaking of which, my mom just bought like a $300 grill...its gas, but it actually tastes pretty good.

Man, I wish i could go to the beach, like the ocean beach...I miss the smell of salt water...All I have here for a beach, is stupid Rend Lake.

I go to my Sis's cabin 6000 feet up in the Sierras about every other weekend.
Cook and keep warm with a franklin stove.
Raccoons and squirrels and bluejays and ravens etc right outside a giant french window. surrounded by giant incense cedars and sugar pines and some oaks. Also the trip up consists of some of the best roads in the world to ride a motorcycle on. Im lucky.

i always miss the sea and the beach when i'm away from jersey. especially in the summer. a day at the beach in the sun tops any other kind of outing for me. even tops going out on the piss and that's saying something :D

I've been riding my bike and walking more.

Although part of that is because I don't get a free bus pass during the summer.

Golf kicks ass; I also like baseball, water basketball, and various outdoor games that really either don't fit a category or are made up on the spot. Also enjoy hiking, biking, and just going for a walk.

Nothing better than sitting on the deck watching the sun set with a glass of iced tea and a cup of coffee...

It's great up here; we're close enough to the lake that we get a constant, gentle breeze and comfortable temperatures. Nothing better than evening golf when it's warm, followed by relaxing on the deck after the round. Sunsets on the lake are also incredible...

For some reason, I can never make it to sunrise if I stay up all night...4 AM, 5 AM, but after that I'm just plain out.

One word: Money.
Another word: Experience
Some more words: I'm going to work tomorrow. Yay!
Even more words: Meh, I'll have the afternoons off anyway, so I can do more than nothing.
Random word: Vanilla
Final words? No.

Yeah the bike can take you further, with less effort, IMO, and its just all around fun.

So, you're not going to do it outside and you're not going to use euphemisms?

The summer is all about three things; hiking, surfing, and futbol-ing. Those are the three MAIN things I'll be doing in my spare time, although the amount of free time I'll have during Basic Training is not likely to be a hell of a lot. Regardless, camping, frisbee, swimming (in lakes and pools, not just in the ocean :p ) and running are also favourite passtimes of mine. Lotsa fun, the outdoors.

I wonder what the summer's like in Quebec...?

Ahh, summer. I like to spend lots of time in/at the pool (or beach, but that happens rarely). Great weather for BBQing, playing with my dog at the park or along the levee, and relaxing on my balcony in my papasan chair, curled up with a good book and a glass of something cold. I also spend quite a few weekends up at Lake Tahoe, playing in the water, enjoying sunsets from the patio with a glass of wine, hiking (the hike up Rubicon is awesome), and generally relaxing.

I'll probably spend my time working on my camp site like always.. I should use it one of these years.. hm.

I guess going to the boardwalks is an outside thing.. but my atitude towards the boardwalks has changed.. I use to love em.. now they just annoy me.. all that walking... not really fun anymore.

I'll be spending my free time practicing what I can of my swordsmanship (the basic forms, guards, a few combinations, the meisterhau etc) in my back garden (might rent a squash court out so I can use my steel one to keep my technique in good shape). Also I'll be swimming, running, playing footie and a few other bits and pieces, as well as working on my parents back garden.

Gotta try and keep fit!
