June primaries here and the new voting machines were not accepting many of the cards including mine. They say it will all be sorted out with new cards by noon or so.. Get ready for huge BS stories of voter fraud at a media outlet near you.

Where are you voting? Lots of primaries today, after all. And what will be BS--the voter fraud, the stories, what?

They found out you hang out on NS General and decided it best that you not vote. :p

In Kern county California as it goes. And my predictions of BS voter fraud stories mightnt come true. Once they do I can comment on which bits are BS and which are valid.

If it was only me I'd say you had a point but it was about 3/4 s of us or more.
Unless they were just making sure.

It is a new system they implemented with voter access cards which are scanned by the voting machines which then produce ballots.. The cards failed to scan properly. Long lines of confused people waiting to vote were disgruntled to slightly hostile in my polling place. I left. The county is scrambling to get more cards out. A local news station just broadcast that lines were short and things are flowing now, but I'll wait awhile just in case they havent got new cards to my polling place yet. I WILL VOTE DAMMITT!

Otherwise I lose my bitching-about-the-gummint righteousness. If you dont vote dont bitch. Also every time somebody doesnt vote mine counts a little bit more.

THINK FIRST

Then

VOTE!

Of course you cant vote. Didnt you hear the President decided democracy isnt really the best way to go during war time. And remember, he's the king, er, I mean the decider.

Well is Kern county a republican stronghold that could loose to democrats?

If not, you have nothing to worry about.

Why don't they have a paper register with all the eligible voters on it and hand each voter a sheet of paper?
That goes into the poll both, et voilĂ ! Done.

Man, you could even vote without electricity, lit by candles and shit!

It's a primary--if you're not in CA-50 today, I don't think there are any seats up, although California is so gerrymandered that the primary will determine the winner of the seat in a lot of cases.

This is a primary election and not a general election. Im not a republican. Scuttle off to liberal land until you know what a primary election is.

It could come to that if all other options are used up. Right now they just invested in electronic voting crapnology and are desperate to make sure it works.

That's true. Probably not here though. We are losing Bill Thomas to retirement so the Repubs and Demos are both working the primary pretty hard.

On a side note on Bill Thomas you can love or hate his Washington politics but on a local level he was the most responsive Congressman Ive ever seen when a local, no matter their political affiliation, was fucked over by some federal agency. Im sad to see him go.
