i made a movie with a digital camcorder. the camcorder burns to a DVD-RW. I finalized the disk. now i want to edit it. For some reason, i can't rip the movie to my computer. I ripped Star Wars just to make sure i could rip at all. Star Wars worked and my PC recognizes the DVD-RW mini-disk, but the program i'm using wont recognize it. Any suggestions?

the only programs i've tried were Magic DVD Ripper and DVD to MPEG (both trials). I'm not willing to make an investment on this as i'm only going to do this once.

Sheesh! This isn't a video forum, you know, perhaps no one knows how to do it. Perhaps if you share more info with us, like the model of your camcorder. Maybe it uses a proprietary format. And it should have come with some software, shouldn't it?

My job is to digitize media from a varieto of sources including digi Beta, D-5, HDCam, DVCam and pretty mauch all of the major fomats for high budget movies and television shows including Lost, X-Men 3, at this moment I'm doing Will and Grace. I digitize them primarily for distribution to studios, networks and production execs on standard def DVD. I would have undoubtedly been able to help you, but, :upyours: .

sorry guys, i'm just a little frustrated because this is a project that's due for me tomorrow and i wanted to make some adjustments. i figured that if "nobody knows" then maybe they'll tell me "i dont know." But hey, using the upyours smilely got me some replies and all i wanted was to see if anyone was willing to help me. (the camcorder isnt mine so i dont know the product #)

i finalized it so it could be read like a normal DVD so i could rip it to my harddrive. i'm having trouble with the ripping part.
