The problem with the NHS is not the lack of funding but the increasing cost of the new treatments. I say we go back to using leaches and letting blood, if it was good enough for people in the dark ages its good enough for us! :p

Forensics is interesting...I have had limited exposure via work...dealing with police and evidence gathering and the like...I assume you are doing a medical course? I was not aware there was a forensics course...

As for the NHS...the problem with the NHS is that managers have turned it in to a cattle market.

It is the use of managers who have little if any proper clinical experience that is driving costs up....

but

not the only reason....there is so much legislation now that employers are having to spend money on things that really are bollocks...

this is what happens when the government has decided that the population cannot think for themsleves.

To be fair I wouldn't trust 'the public' with anything more dangerous than a paper hat, they have a tenancy to do something stupid.

If the pharmasuitical companies could start to produce things which work but are cheap, insted of looking out for their profit margins we might be better off.
What doesn't help is, like what you said, the govenment setting unrealistic targets and standards
