Can anyone truly keep a secret?

Maybe this is just my little world, but it seems that when anyone tells someone a secret, it is generally really juicy, hillarious information, and there is no way that person can ever keep the secret. My question is this: In the history of the world, has anyone ever truly kept a secret? I am questioning if this is really possible.

It's not a secret if more than two people know it.

... Well if they have we wouldn't know it would we?

I think there was some spy whose identity wasn't discovered till one hundred years or so after his death.

Just think of how surprised everyone gets on a regular basis, when information is declassified.

Of course its possible, you only hear about secrets that get out so of course most of them ar 'juicy and hilarious'. The ones kept are never heard of are they?

Sure you can.

I don't think i've ever broken a promise to keep something told to me in confidence private.

Of course, it helps that it eventually becomes irrelevant and I no longer care or I forget about it...

I can keep secrets pretty well. If a friend has trusted me to keep a secret, I'm not going to just go back on my word and start blabbing to all. Plus I have a lot of secrets of my own that I don't want to tell another soul, no matter how much I trust them. Because I don't want to put the burden on them.

I've kept quite a lot of secrets, I've told others, but after a while, the news just isn't relevant anymore, and it's easy to keep it to yourself.
