I think Pirates have established themselves as the coolest. In fact, although his martial arts abilities are unparralelled and he could undoubtedly dominate both the ninja and pirate worlds, Chuck Norris would make an an excellent Pirate...

At least they have lessened code/honour and more ruthlessness compared to the weak and honour-bound ninjas.

If it came to a confrontation, I doubt the ninjas have sufficiently mad skillz to swim onto a moving cutter, under fire from canister shot all the while, get aboard, and defeat around sixty ruthless criminals equipped with superior weaponry. And cutters were eensy little ships.

Hmm. I think ninjas are more spectator coolness. They're much cooler than pirates to watch, but I suppose I agree that piracy would be more entertaining.

Well there is only one Ninja left and he presumably quit killing people years ago. There are hundreds of practicing pirates still out there killing people at sea for boats or money or goods.

Since Im not big on killing people I pick Wikipedia is communist. And sometimes inaccurate.

Ninjas try to grab all the good loot so that they can have it for themselves.

Since I believe that sharing is caring, I'm gonna go with pirates.

Pirates by a long shot. Pirates have cooler cloths and not to mention they have guns, also cutlesses are made from better steel than katanas. Guns > Brittle katanas.

Kats aren't brittle, thats a myth. They may be made from lesser quality steel, but the way the steel is forged and treated nullifies the problems that were initially encountered. Because different billets of steel were used and forged together on folded, the impurities in the steel are spread out and slowly mixed in with the rest of the steel. You can see the way the steel is forged in the lines that are shown (incorrectly known as damascus) once the steel of the blade is polished.

Besides, dependent of the blade geometry of the Kat, some are very flexible but if the Kat has Bo-Hi (a fuller) running the length of it then it will be more rigid.
