It seems that one of the unwilling participants in this liefestival has sued Moore.

According to Mr Damon, he asked for apologies several times over the past year and received nothing, so now he is asking for reparation.

If Moore bought the old clip, the vet has no case against him - though he could sue the company that sold the clip to Moore.

Get real, 85 million? Most people can't earn $1 million in their entire lifetime.

How interesting...his image was used in a clip meant to portray injured soldiers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the fact that he's an injured soldier fit RIGHT into the context?
Michael Moore, as much as I'm a little wary of him, didn't do anything wrong with THIS guy in particular. He was making a documentary, and this section of the film happened to deal with injured veterans. I don't think you can make the direct link to the idea that this guy is against the war, especially when he never says, in the clip, "I am against the war" or anything of the sort. If people are stupid enough to immediately assume that he is against the war, that is no fault of Moore's.
That being said, I'm not a huge fan of Moore to begin with. Still, Farenheit 9/11 had some good, hard facts (try denying that Bush has all those oil connections, try denying the image of a father holding a dead toddler in Iraq, try denying Bush's connections to the Saudi Royal Family...can't do it). Moore does present a lot of evidence, but like EVERY other documentary filmmaker, he has to edit some things because most people's attention spans barely last over 2 hours, let alone the 2 or 3 days it would take to include everything from every clip he included in the movie.
And if we want to talk about liars, let's start with Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilley, or Rush Limbaugh. If anyone's ever read a Franken book, they would know what I mean.
People only criticize Michael Moore and make pathetic attempts to debunk him, like with stupid films like "Farenhype 9/11"(what a lame attempt at a pun), because of his ideas. If the shoe were on the other foot and the right had a guy like him, they would defend him to death. Need proof? See the names listed above...
As for this guy, I have a hard time believing that he had $85 million in damages, embarassment, and all those other little things he claims happened to him.

Lets do some math here.

assume 6.00/hr for the rest of your life, at 40hrs a week and 52 weeks a year. thats 499,200 over a 40 year period. Now. assume your wife/husband ALSO makes that.. guess what, theres your million in the lifetime.

However, unless you are some idiot that didnt bother to learn anything during school you WILL make more than that. I drive 18wheelers for a living and I make about 35,000USD a year, figure that for 40 years, thats 1.4M USD over my lifetime, so say nothing of any income my wife brings in..

My mother delivered mail for the USPS and my father was a shipfitter in a local shipyard, and together, their yearly taxable income was around 110k/yr
figure that for 40 years and thats 4.4M USD.

If you are poor in the USA it is because you are stupid, lazy, or some combination of both. The trucking industry is BEGGING for more drivers. Even with fuel prices on the rise, smart drivers are earning 30-60k a year.. more if they own their own truck and drive it smart... I dont want to hear about how bad off you are.. GET A JOB, DONT BE A LAZY BUM.

i wish michael moore was dead

I don't think death threats are wise on here. Anyway, any particular reason?
