I just woke up, not even 15 minutes ago.. and for some reason.. I thought about me saying in atleast two different threads that people are the way they are, because of their environment.

In a thread by smunkee, I said.. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10857459&postcount=19)

And in a thread by Eut about black and poverty I said.. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10646963&postcount=22)

And no, I don't think homosexuality is caused by environments.

*shrugs*

Does anyone else think this way?

It's called the Root Causes theory. It's very common in left-wing and libertarian thinking, but causes problems if you start excusing people's actions because of their environment (sure, he might not have murdered that girl if he hadn't been beaten by his father as a child, but that doesn't mean we should let him roam free).
