I'm so boring:

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,

The political description that
fits you best is...

CENTRIST

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

The people who made it apparently have no idea what liberalism is.

It said I was a pure libertarian. Not something I would overly disagree with, but the poll is biased. It starts with something that makes the issue positive and/or likeable, to get what they want- new libertarians.

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,

The political description that
fits you best is...

.

STATIST

STATISTS want government to have a great deal of power

over the economy and individual behavior. They frequently

doubt whether economic liberty and individual freedom

are practical options in today's world. Statists tend to distrust

the free market, support high taxes and centralized

planning of the economy, oppose diverse lifestyles,

and question the importance of civil liberties.

The political description that

LIBERAL

LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

If only an entire political philosophy could be reduced down to only 10 issues with three possible answers. (edit: with one answer so vague as to be meaningless)

Anyway, this quiz does not seem to draw a distinction between libertarian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian_Socialism) and libertarian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarcho-capitalism), both of which it seems should place at the zenith of the "Libertarian" area. Sure, I might oppose statist collectivism, but this does not necessarily mean that I reject collectivism entirely. For instance, note my other quiz scores in my signature below. The Moral Politics scores denote a very strong individualist. Yet the Political Compass scores indicates someone generally disgusted by capitalism as it tends to be practiced today. Where exactly does this individual fit on the World's Smallest Political Quiz?

Thus, built into this quiz is an assumption that one is either an individualist anti-state capitalist, or one is Stalin. This, of course, is completely absurd. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_dichotomy)

But then, this quiz is intended to advertise a political party, not provide an accurate description of one's political philosophy.

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,

The political description that

LIBERTARIAN

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

As if there was ANY doubt to my political beliefs?

Unfortunately, "appeal to dictionary" is not exactly helpful, as the meanings of words and ideas will change over time, or vary from place to place. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism#Positions_of_contemporary_liberal_parties_and_movements)

Note and compare the differences between Liberal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_Party_of_Canada#Principles_and_policies), Liberal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Democratic_Party_of_Switzerland), Liberal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_Party_%28New_York_State%29), and, finally, Liberal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACT_New_Zealand).

The great Socialism-scare in the US didn't & doesn't help it either. Only natural that the liberals would become a sort of inhumane social democratic party.
