Olbermann exposes O'Reilly error and coverup

I've never seen this man's show before, (well, either of them) but I really think I like this Olbermann guy, and it's very worrying that Fox news attempted a coverup of O'Reilly's error by altering the transcripts.
At any rate, enjoy the video clip, I found it to be rather good and wish I was able to watch Olbermann's show regularly.

He does a lot. He makes O'Reilly look like an idiot least a couple times a week(which isnt hard to do).

Yes, I can't imagine it's difficult, but he was eloquent in the way he did it.

Olbermann was spitting nails, wasn't he? He's usually a bit more good-natured about taking O'Reilly down, but in this case, he was pissed, and righteously so.
The thing that bugs me the most about this situation, and that I think is the most telling about the lack of ethics at Fox News, is the way that they edited the transcripts to make it seem as though O'Reilly hadn't made the mistake. I mean, it's one thing for O'Reilly to say he'd been misunderstood--it's bullshit, but he's an ignorant blowhard so it's expected. It's another thing completely for a news organization to fake its transcripts in order to try to cover it up. That's just another example of how Fox News has absolutely no credibility when it comes to claims that they're accurate purveyors of the news.

Yeah, it's a little 1984-esque in the bit of rewriting history

Wow. Never heard of Olbermann before. Might have to start watching him.
The comments of Malmedy is rather surprising. Did Clark correct him?
Man talk about 1984. Trying to say he was talking about Normandy. I can see the confusion. They do both end in "dy"
However, Americans did murder german soldiers that tried to surrender.
I worked with an old timer once who was in Europe just as the war was ending and was there during the occupation. He told a story where there were out on patrol(the war was almost over) and they came on these two guys that surrendered. They were doing the usual pad down when the Sargent all of a sudden told the two men that if they could reach a fence which was a 100 yards from them they could go free. He glared at them and said "start running"
He waited till they where 1/2 across and then dropped them with 2 shots.
My friend said he freaked out and later talked to him because he couldn't handle it. The Sargent shrugged and said don't worry about it and asked if he noticed the two death head emblems on their uniforms? They were concentration camp guards. He told him if he had seen what he saw in the camps, he would have killed them too.
He said his Sargent was a guy you didn't want to cross. He fought the whole war since the landings in Africa.
Not arguing for any side. Just telling a story I once heard......

And it's ineffective as well, unless Fox News is going to somehow find every copy of that tape and digitally alter them to make O'Reilly look not stupid.

Makes you wish you had become a TV journalist. You get to make fun of idiots and get paid for it.

Actually, after just three months in the UK, I was weary of BBC News and Sky News.
Most news in the world isn't worth watching. Better to skip right to what you want on the Web.
Wow!
Damn, he was pissed!
But an impressive performance nonetheless...

Exactly. Euronews is good though; concise and to the point. None of this newsroom drama they have going on in the US.

Meh. I have seen the news in Sweden, the UK, France and Italy. It has it's ups and downs and they are even playing with the "infotainment" crap that we have going on here.
But you are right. The Euronews doesn't go for the "emotion" as much as they do here.....

Plus, BBC.co.uk and the Economist, and perhaps a serious, non-partisan newspaper are more than adequate as sources of news.
Haha, yeah. Olbermann rocks. O'Reilly hates him so much that he actually had Fox Security "check in" with a caller who mentioned Olbermann's name on his radio show. In fact, O'Reilly disconnects anyone who mentions Olbermann at all.

He's made it more than once ...on air off air and in the air...he has " mistake " written on his forehead .....whats that got to do with FOX ? He's a infotainment program...not news...just like CNN and the others...if you watch his shtick and listen and believe it...well who's fault is that ?
if you took half the bullsit off TV what would you be able to watch besides dead air ?
If it didnt make money ...well how do you explain Michael Moores success ?
is he any better than O' Reilly ?
