Car Chase: What car up against what?

I'm watching The 7-Ups on AMC and the car chase just happened. I hadn't seen that one before. It had a lot of the elements, no speed up footage, obsticles, reckless endangerment, and the best ending to the car chase I think I've ever seen. (And some great acting for Roy "We're gonna need a bigger boat" Scheider after climbing out of the car-without saying a word, too). Also point out the flaw in driving a 60s Continental as a bad guy. The front and rear doors can be handcuffed together to lock the people in temporarily, giving people time to take what's in your trunk, apparently.
Got me to thinkin' as often the case when I've been up too late and I'm still posting for no good reason.
Every now and then I day dream about what I'd like to see chase what in a movie. I'm not saying car chases are the pinacle of film making, or not even a little cheesy, but damn, sometimes I likey a car chase.
Here are some match ups I'd like to see, to get the ball (hopefully) rolling.
AMC Javelin vs. 1970 Camaro
Manx Dune Buggy vs. "Henchmen" (henchmen always ride those road/dirt bikes and dress exactly alike.) They could jump from thier bikes onto the buggy and the buggy driver can pull the front left hand brake he had installed like a sand rail and the buggy jerks left and throws the guy while another henchman hits the front of the car and goes over the 'hood,' and then he does a couple dirt squirting donuts to throw up a huge cloud of dust to lose some more. Thought about this one a bit.
A Messerschmidt KR200 (http://www.mirolcentre.com/mirol/art/bilar_archivos/image014.jpg) vs. a BMW Isseta (http://www.theclassictimes.com/fotoMicro/BMWIsseta/3.jpg)
Don't look at me that way.
VW R32 vs. Clio Sport V6
Olds 442 vs. Tempest
'65 Barracuda Commando vs. '51 Merc Lead Sled
That's an odd match to me for some reason.
What do you want, or what snide remark do you have about car chases?

AMC Gremlin vs. Ford Pinto (the early explosive model)
How about a chicken race between a Messerschmidt and a HumVee? That would be fun...

Zonda vs. F40
I always try and imagine how exotics would end up in a chase. I think it would have to be at an event like an F1 race. I haven't gotten to go to one, but when I go to events at Laguna Seca there are plenty of exotics about. Come to think about it...
A GT-40 vs. 917k roaring out of a vintage event.
I did see in real life a Muira chasing down a 550 RSK in the streets of Monterey during the historics. Fantastic.

Quality.
I had wrote a short joke film with a friend of mine that we never ended up doing where it was an ad for a new SUV but it was a dump truck. The tag was going to be, "It's only a matter of time." I wish I had done it, because a year later a company that built cement trucks released an SUV on a cement truck frame.

There are power windows that open. You can get out. Suicide doors rawk.
So do International CXT pick-em-up trucks

That's what they did, but they are slow and were in a car wash, giving the villians time to escape. I wasn't paying enough attention to know why the mob guys kept going to that car wash with a bunch of money in thier trunk, but there it is...

That'd be sweet.
How about a Roller V a Maybach?
Or in an urban chaos environment, Rex STi v Lancer EVO.
I reckon the ulitmate getaway car would be the 911 Turbo. 4WD grip, massive torque & brutal acceleration. Not much room for your loot, but if it's a diamond heist you'd be set.

What years?
2006 Shelby Cobra vs 2006 Charger SRT-8 (A new Bullit, anyone?)
A Nissan 350Z against a 196x Mustang with a Skyline RB26DETT (Oh wait, just gotta wait for June 16th...ugh)
A bunch of MBs chasing a M3 or M5
Ford GT vs C6 Z06
A bunch of squad cars chassing a good driver on a GSX-R 1300
A Boxter chasing a Caymen chasing a 997 Turbo
too many more to list them all...

No doubt. Maybe too fast, though-you might actually end up over committing yourself. When Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit came out we became fond of using Corvettes as getaway cars. Granted that had to do a little with how the game dealt with runflat tires, but still...I still prefer the Porsche, but I'm biased that way...
Lancia Stratos vs. Cop cars.
I thought of that one when I read a story in Motorsport about a time in the 70s where they tried to hold a World Rally leg in the US. The SCCA had rallys there but they wheren't ready for the circus, so to speak, and the local sherriff really wasn't. He became perterbed when the Lancia team didn't even take off thier helmets to fuel up and was trying to get thier attention when they screamed back onto the road. By the time they finished thier next stage the cops where there shutting it down. Going back on the road from the start line to the station where they met the cop they could see all these skid marks and marks in the trees where the sherriff had gone off trying to catch up with the Stratos.
That and someone approaching the Stratos that doesn't turn thier brights off getting blasted by the rally lights amuses me as a scene.

Hehe, that would be a pretty quick chase...
