Comparing a religion to a 'race' is a fallacious analogy.

For one, the majority of Christians share the same beliefs, ideals, rituals, etc. They become Christians by choice, and willingly follow and accept a pre-determined belief system, which usually includes the beliefs of the community. They also have a very long history of acting out violently for those beliefs.

Black people, on the other hand, only share the same skin tone. In your example, in Harlem, some would also share the same geographical location. Aside from that, being a black man in Harelm wouldn't make you have any much more in common except for skin tone and location. There is no 'black bible' that all black residents of harlem use that tells them that rape is good, and that they should do it, as there is a bible that dictates to Christians that fornication is evil. There are no black rituals of rape going on in Harlem, as there were Christian rituals geared against this porn shop (prayer, protest, etc.). And while virtually all Christians believe that porn is sinful, even if they are liberal and open about it, I highly doubt if virtually all blacks believe that rape is okay.

There is much, much more evidence to go on when we draw the conclusion that it was probably a Christian. Not only is there the statistical evidence, as someone pointed out previously would draw one to conclude that a black man did the rape in Harlem, but there is motive, previous acts of the same type based on Christianity, previous Christian rituals against this bookstore, etc.

Thus the analogy becomes fallacious, because 'race' and religion don't have enough in common where you can draw a conclusion from one about the other, and there is far more evidence to draw the conclusion from this article that a Christian did it than to draw the conclusion that when a rape of a white woman happens in Harelm its probably a black man doing it.

The so-called "wide range" of beliefs in Christianity is much more narrow and limited than many would like to admit. It comes from the same sources, and the same tradition. I've already outlined, quite clearly, how Christianity is more narrow. A single authoritative text is something that makes Christians far more narrow than Black people in general. As I wrote, there is a Bible virtually all Christians use, but there is no "Black Bible" used by virtually all Black people.

Christianity also has a long history of Bible and religion based violence. We can come up with many instances of persecution against minorities based on "It is God's will, it's in the Bible, etc." You'd be hard pressed to find as many examples of Black crimes committed based on the justification of being Black.

What you're doing is attempting to make it appear more wide than it actually is. Sure, some Christians can't even agree on who God is (Is it Jesus, or isn't it?) and they have the most diversity and sects of any religion in the world (over 40,000). They are still nowhere as diverse as a single genetic color marker, however. There are many universal Christian axioms that we can use to prove this, such as "no Christians are Atheists" and "All Christians believe in Jesus." You can't find as many universal axioms about Black people, proving how much more diverse a 'racial' group is than a religion people choose.

You've also used misleading terms in your response in an attempt to segregate modern Christian terrorism with historical Christian terrorism. Sure, today it is a minority of extremist Christians who bomb porn shops. However, throughout history it has been a majority of Christians who have advocated or used violence in many forms, albeit not the specific bombing of porn shops. Instead, other terrorist tactics were used, including the public executions of heretics (in public matters) the public execution of unfaithful wives (in private matters) and even the discreet poisoning of oppositional Christian leaders (like Arius). Christianity has a long history of terrorism in thiis very form, except without the use of bombs, based on Christianity alone. There is no long history of Black rape based on being Black.
