Hi all!

A friend of mine in Poland, convinced me to get skype, and I think it's interesting! And, it can be interesting;so, does anyone have Skype? If so and you'd like to chat, send your info by telegram. Just cause i'm bored and there's nothing to do really where I am.
I don't want to give my skype info out, and if I decide to give it to you Please don't spread it around.

Considering my Dad lives in Ireland it could be pretty helpful.

I think that everyone with those little clouds under their name have skype that you can contact. You can make your Skype accessable that way, I ran across it once but since Skype doesn't play well with my out of date OS I didn't do it.

Yeah, and the nice thing it's free for skype to skype calls. So, if you can get your dad to use it, than it's free and you can talk whenever you like! I got it so I could chat with my friend more easy.

Skype is great, I use it instead of my landline for long distance calls. I refuse to get a cell phone, so it works out great.

If you have friends scattered around the globe its a pretty inexpensive way to talk to them. The IM isnt bad and file sharing isnt too slow.

I didn't know what i was doing, and i put the skype in this mode called, "skype me," or something like that. I got all guys who all they wanted was to talk about sex.
That's crap! Not sex, just the guys..all i wanted was to have a cool good conversation where we could talk about normal stuff. World events, news, music..whatever..i'll never put my skype in that mode again.

I'm vajaradakini if you want to chat, I haven't used it much as none of my friends have it, but they're offering free skypeout phonecalls to Canada and the US so I've used it to call home.

My sister used it a while when she was at school overseas for a semester.

That's interesting..maybe I'll use it oneday for something productive like that..lol

I've used Skype to talk to other people I know within New Zealand and it works great, very little lag, decent downloading. Though I did have trouble with my microphone, hopefully they have fixed this by now.

Just make sure you look at your bandwidth allocation if you got one.:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

If you know how to use it, I'm sure it's a great service.

I have the darn thing, but every time i try to make my account, it won't let me, saying there is a bad connection, which i assume is a result from me being on wireless. :(

Well the other night, I turned off all of my firewalls...You know like the windows one, then my norton, and finally zone alarm. But it still said cannot connect. So I am going to just try to plug into a landline, and try that.

Well I don't have skype, so what are these things?Skype In is where you pay them a small amount of money per month (I can't remember who much, but their site should say) and you get a landline number attributed to your account and any calls to that number are redirected to your account (NB, you can choose a landline not based in your county or country). If you're online you recieve a call. If you don't want to take the call or you aren't online then the caller has the option to leave you a message which is stored on the skype servers until you collect it.

Skype out is a pay-as-go system where you can call certain places in the world quite cheaply, and other places more cheaply than you could otherwise. I think the rate for most places is 0.0175 euros per minute or something (with equivalent rates in dollars and pounds I think).

Oh wow, now that stuff is interesting but I don't know many people so it's not wirth it to me..to get that stuff.

I saw it a few weeks ago on on the little icons off to the left. Not sure what it does though.
