Well, at least you're still around. There seem to be a lot of people who very quickly get to 500-1,000 posts and then disappear.
How many 'regulars' would people say were on here? If you take a 'regular' to mean someone who posts often enough and for long enough for people to get to know who they are and a bit about what they believe. 40? 50?
I did disappear for a year or so. I think there're so many posters on this board you just lose track of stuff.
I reckon who you'd term a regular depends on how much time you spend on the forum, but for me there'd be no more than 20 names I'd recognise on this board.

A n00b is a new player who acts in a n00bish way, often talking in txt spk, or refusing to behave. They generally make asses of themselves.
A puppet is just an account anonymously controlled by another player.

I'm surprised anyone admits to being a n00b.
I've never understood the whole concept of heaping shit and derision upon new members of sites or movements or what-have-you. I've seen it over and over again and it always strikes me as geeks adopting the worst characteristics of jocks. I went through school before hazing was outlawed. I spent my time in garbage cans, ducted to flagpoles, and so on as a freshman. I never understood it -- everyone else was a n00b at one point and needed help understanding the interface and protocols of any community, online or real-life.
I know I'll probably get some minor flaming for this, but what, really, is the point? To make yourself feel better at the expense of others? isn't that why we like the anonymity of the online community in the first place?
Sorry -- I don't have pet peeves, like Carlin, I have "major psychotic fuckin' hatreds." And this trampling of new people for making new person mistakes (mistakes they should logically be expected to make) is one of them.
We now return you to your regularly-scheduled poll thread.

I don't think it's as bad here as you make out. I never felt hazed nor do I think I've done any hazing. Mostly I think the people who get a lot of guff are the people who enter the forum swinging and quickly find themselves over their head.
