I recently came across a very interesting website (http://implicit.harvard.edu/) hosted by a premier Harvard psychological program. It allows the user to take a wide variety of rapid-fire sorting-type trials of images and words associated with various ethnic and cultural groups. The program's creators have designed a powerful mathematical model which analyzes how a person sorts the various stimuli to uncover hidden biases, biases which the person may not admit to or even be aware of.
Keep in mind that these tests do not uncover just racial prejudices, but all kinds of unconscious judgements -- there are tests for young/old, fat/thin, gay/straight, and even Presidential biases. I encourage everyone to try out these tests; they're free, anonymous, objective, scientifically based, and may reveal unconscious prejudices you never knew you had.

Sorry cant trust it. Harvard let a Bush aide into it's business school and the kid didnt pass the Nation States forum test of merit. All things Harvard are now suspect. For all we know Republicans paid for that test to discredit Democrats as prejudiced.
I don't believe I'm prejudice. I don't care about anything except a person's personality. If they're a jerk to me for no reason, then I have a reason to dislike them.

The (religion) test says I prefer Jews over other religions. In fact I moderately sway away from Jews. I don't see how this test is good for anything except testing reflexes and brain processing.
I don't like that site, it said that I had a moderate preference for men with science and women with liberal arts.
I only got screwed up with the things because they switched the sides. If they'd introduced female on the same side as science instead of with liberal arts, I would have got the opposite result. I got used to placing male to the left and female to the right.
Your data suggest a slight association of European American with Harmless Objects and African American with Weapons compared to African American with Harmless Objects and European American with Weapons.

These test seem to be based on a generally good concept. They take into account all sorts of other potential factors and effectively isolate them from the factor of prejudice. The problem that I see is that there is too much potential for variability. What if you happen to be processing things a little more slowly, by pure coincidence, on one particular go around. I say, if you want to measure any latent prejudices as accurately as possible, you should take one of these tests about 7 or 8 times. That should eliminate any variability.
Secondly, I'd like to say that latent prejudices are meaningless. What really matters is how you actively decide to treat people. If you treat everyone the same, I'd say you are a genuinly unprejudiced person, no matter what subconscious tendancies you might have.

No prejudice there, if it was a dark night, I'd feel safer around White people. Blacks (http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/verkleidung/costumed-smiley-090.gif) have a higher crime rate. Acually, according to the test, a lot of Blacks (http://smilies.vidahost.com/cwm/survivor/nick_brown.gif) are just as biased toward other Blacks (http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/verkleidung/costumed-smiley-012.gif). Big deal, I don't intentionally dislike Blacks (http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/verkleidung/costumed-smiley-026.gif). I'd feel safer around a Jew, then an European-America (I'm a EA, by the way), so it's nothing to be ashamed about.

I don't need this test to know that I'm prejudiced. I'll admit that if two gangsta-looking black guys were walking towards me as I was walking on the sidewalk, I would cross the street. I may be called a racist, but there have been too many incidents for me to risk it.
