Anybody else here play it?
I personally cant get enough. If Civ4 is electronic crack, then Gal Civ 2 is high quality crystal meth.
Presently in my game as the Terran Alliance Im second strongest in the Galaxy, a close second to those Korx bastards who I am presently mounting a campaign against. Pretty soon Terran dreadnaughts are going to steamroller the Korx, who, from what Ive seen, are at least two generations behind on military tech, keeping first only because they have a ton of planets and influence.
Theyre already at war with three other civs (who are even less techy than them), so I plan on sharing some of my less shiney ships with those other civs, 'cause all theyre doing for me is garrison duty on some outlying crap planets.
Perhaps one of the most 'fun' features in the game is the ship designer, when I got the game I had no idea I would be able to produce near-copies of Imperial Star Destroyers (abliet with fewer guns >_<), which only makes pwning huge fleets of Korx fighters (they have about two large-scale ships, which were poorly armed when they exploded and even worse off now.).
The Korx economy is under some strain now because of two things. First off, I cut off their trade some time before the war started. Second, through my masterly positioning of material prior to the war, they have no space stations left. They had too many planets to mount simultanious invasions and theyve started to churn out those midget ships like mad (they must have of the 'Precursor Artifact' things that gives you insane production bonuses, usualy between %700 and %800).
So Im slugging my way through their empire, and all I have to worry about is the Yor, who are just below me on the scale of things, theyre a pain and our relations are 'wary', which is not good.
More updates from the front later ;)
