my favorite is Momotaro (http://web-japan.org/kidsweb/folk/momotaro/momotaro.html), but the one that had the most effect on my life is "Peter Pan"

The "Little Match Girl" turned me into the repressed depressive fatalistic wreck I am today. Heh. :(
