I'm here watching Spider Man and his Amazing Friends (because I'm a geek) and it seems that Wolverine is an Australian! WTF? How? Why? Is this just me?

Wolverine, the X-Men mutant, is actually Canadian, as he was born to Canadian parents in Alberta.

I do seem to recall that there had been an animated version of Wolverine depicted with an Aussie accent kicking around. Thanks for jogging the memory. Presumably the producers felt that a Canadian accent wasn't distinct enough, and so made an ill-considered substitution.

Well, I do know his origins. But that doesn't explain where the Australian accent popped up... If anything you'd expect perhaps a Japanese accent from all the time he spent in Japan, or perhaps a Mapridoorian accent, whatever that sounds like.
