For those fortunate enough to live in Australia and have joined the intellectual left, you would have no doubt reveled in the simple delights of the ABC "The Chaser's War on Everything".

However, recently a segment seems to have caused some controversy -and no, not the one where they compare the Christian right to common street prostitutes.

A recent segment involved inquiring after a number of top-level cabinet members, as to whether they were aware of the middle name of "...the British spy Austin Powers".

Apparently revealing the identity of comedy movie characters of British spies compromises national security, according to ASIO, whom I imagine will have some fun back pedaling to do, in the coming days.

This sort of thing is why politics is sad and funny at the same time.

That was so funny... I almost thought Ruddock was making a joke, until he pressed on without a smile... I think he needs to go back to his crypt.

Yeah. He treated the question like it was a political bombshell - backpeddling, blustering and trying to figure out what the hell he was gonna say :p

I'm not a part of the "Intelligent Left"... but I do find thing like the Chaser team... and "The Glass House" (both are ABC comedy shows) funny

(And people say the ABC isn't left wing :p) - NB. This was meant to be a joke... maybe a very poor joke in bad taste but still a joke none the less..

The ABC is a thorn in the Liberal Party's side, the very fact a conservative government and conservative tax dollars pay for the intellectual left to bitch slap them, is brilliant

I'm sorry I missed it. I love to see Ruddock make a fool of himself.
