We all know about the World Cup, but this is 100% unofficial. It works along similar lines as boxing - one team is world champions until they are beaten. It assumes the initial holders are England (we were the first ever country to win an official international match).

According to the link, the current holders are Zimbabwe, although I've done a bit of further research and the actual current holders are Uruguay (playing Serbia & Montenegro today) - Nigeria beat Zimbabwe at the end of last year, then Romania beat Nigeria and Uruguay beat Romania four days ago.

Scotland have held the title of Official Unofficial World Champions for the longest - 12999 days, over 5000 days longer than England in second. America has held it for 13 days, and Australia and the Netherlands Antilles have held it for the shortest time - 4 days.

If you look at the list in the end, Irealnd's in third, but hasn't been the UWC since 1920, and the first 60 years seem to be only England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales... Not very surprising, but one huge head-start for them.
