Inspiration ... Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi in the film. IT wasn't quite Jake and Elwood, but a late-night thief modelled a supermarket raid on one of The Blues Brothers' most famous scenes.

Police said a stolen white station wagon smashed through the front double doors of the Marsden Park Shopping Centre at about 11.45pm and caused carnage inside reminiscent of the famous police chase through a Chicago shopping mall in the 1980 film.
A National Australia Bank automatic teller machine was damaged during the raid, but the thief or thieves were unable to extract any cash.

The vehicle then hit pet accessory racks set up outside the Marsden Pet Shop and smashed through the front glass windows of a jewellery store.

It was unknown if anything was stolen.

The wagon was later found in a vacant block in Macaranga St, Marsden.

Police said a witness reported seeing a man leaving the vehicle on foot towards Browns Plains Rd.

The man was described as having a stocky build and wearing a white cap.

The vehicle has been taken to Logan Central Police Station to be examined by police.

Oh, that's a good movie!

But I somehow doubt that these guys had seen the light, or that they were on a mission from God.

- Will there be anything else?
- Yes, do you have the Miss Piggy?
