Well last night Taylor Hicks from Birmingham, Alabama won the 5th season of American Idol. Reactions?

well, back on topic.... pop/american idol was parrodied abismally in the American Dreamz movie recently. even if you hate american idol, please, please do not see this movie :P

Dunno about American Idol, but in the German version ('Germany searches the superstar', w00t!) you usually hear about those "superstars" up to the day they win. Then they drift into obscurity.
Yet there seems to be an endless supply of fools that think they will be superstars, despite their numerous, now forgotten predecessors.
I laugh at them.

Frankly, I would have voted him out before the top 10. For some reason the "judges" kept pushing him as the best. I guess they sold everyone on him.

Oh well, If the music industry had to depend on me buying records there would be a no music industry so I guess it doesn't really matter.

It wasn't that bad. It kind of pulled its punches just when you thought it was about to deliver a big one, but it's still ok.

They had the note on CNN. It's a band in which the members dress like the swamp monster or something. It's kind of amusing and they seem to be having fun.
