I've been having issues connecting to ranked servers, and haven't been able to play. I think I need to reinstall it, but I lost my key. I also have Battlefield 2: Special forces and I loved Battlefield:1942 with the DC Final mod on it (I got pretty good with the .50 cal sniper rifle, even against the bunny hoppers). Battlefield:Vietnam I didn't care for as much, although I don't know why.

Helicopters are fun, but the rest of the game I'm not so fond of. the guns feel really padded. it's like I'm trying to play the game encased in pillows.

battlefield 1942 was by far the best. planes are getting a little obsolete in my opinion. the maps arnt big enough to have fast planes, by the time you take off you are half way across the map. thats why the prop planes in 42 were so much better.

Uh, no. While you're (pretty much) right about the aircraft, the game itself has improved significantly. Battlefield 2 is far superior in every respect to Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam. The weapons modeling is much better (it no longer feels like the infantry combat was designed as an afterthought to the vehicle combat), the vehicles control better, the sound design is better, the graphics are better, and the maps offer real strategic options, rather than just being rolling wastelands.

the games graphics have improved as technology has also improved, but i still think battlefield 42 was the best. maybe it was because it was pretty much the first of its kind. but i was much more happy with 42 then i was with any of the others. vietnam had its share of bugs and 2 just didnt really satisfy me much on the comp. but i 2 was pretty good on the 360

I had a clan on Battlefield Vietnam a while ago, we called ourselves 'Allah Loves You'.
On logging on, our immidiate goal was to sieze as many vehicles as possible and ram things with them. Anybody left over would spawn with rocket launchers, run up to enemies, and blow themselves up. Its a suprisingly effective tactic, especially since people have a habit of bunching up.
The most awsome tactic we ever invented was picking up one of the larger boats (with the spawn points) with a helicopter and hovering it out of reach of those damn SA-7's, then raining a stream of rockets on them, followed by sprays of BAR rounds until you died.

Ahh, the good ol' days.
I personally dont like BF2 much, I think its mostly because while the environments are more detailed, you cant go into most of the buildings which means that in streetfighting, your best hope is to line up Napoleonic style and march down the street shooting.
Not really, but you get the idea.

I have it, but no high-speed, so I'm missing out on alot.

Seems like a fun game so far.

Im big into the battlefield series. Started my modding career with bf1942, and now have about 4 years of experience modding for the series. Am currently with the Red Crucible mod for it, although honestly, production has slowed to a halt and an engine change may be imminent, which makes me sad, because I am pretty dedicated to the refractor engine.

Regardless, I knew a number of the developers of Trauma studios(desert combat, some parts of bf2), Eve of Destruction(which I enjoyed a very short career), Forgotten hope(also enjoyed a very short career...), etc. I never liked BFV, and am somewhat happy with BF2. I never really liked the vanilla game, once I got to play mods.
