Today it seems people are now so willing to compromise they will do it on the truth. I think, frankly, that it is rediculous for people to call things such as 'an inconvienent truth' biased simply because it supports one sides course of action. If the truth actually does mean that we should support that sides course of action that doesnt mean that the evidence used to support it is somehow 'biased' just because it doesnt support your side equally.

No, it doesn't, but that doesn't change the fact that, on controversial issues, it is hard to find an unbiased source of information outside of direct scientific studies. And, if a source is biased, it most likely attempts to twist the "truth" to its point-of-view.

Occasionally, I've noticed people objecting to some dynamic in the general case, when in fact they want to object to a specific case.

It is sometimes neglected to establish that their complaint actually addresses a situation that is a specific case of the problematic generality...
