Today is the day on which St Pats Town and Wellington College wage war. This year, it was St Pats Town's first 15 to take the silverware. Although we lost the soccer, the rugby team came through with the win. Down 14-6 at half-time, the boys came back strongly to win the game 19-14. It's the first time in about 8 years in which we've won this annual fixture. I've got no voice left from both the Haka and the chanting. Our whole school went screaming onto the field going nuts after the final whistle.

Oh, what a glorious day.

Anyone else have stories of your underdog team coming through in huge games?


Yeah...Northern Ireland (at the time ranked 105th or something in the world) beating England (at the time ranked in the top 10 in the world) at home (Windsor Park) 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier.

That was one fucking brilliant result. Wouldn't have been quite so good if it wasn't England though ;)

Oh, and btw. Our two schools have a massive rivalry. We were also written off in the papers. Makes it so much sweeter.
