Sweeping Genralisations only aloud in Christianity.

Is it just me or is generalising christianity ok but generalising islam bad. They should both be bad but heres some examples.
If I was to say Islam is a hateful and evil religion, people would jump down my throat and obviously say things like: Not every muslim is an evil terrorist, some are kind loving people.
However if i was to say that Christianity is hateful, racist and evil. No one would slander me and point out my generalisation.
Im not going to be ironic so some people will obviously point out my generalisation. BUT NOT MANY!

That's okay, it was just very striking.
On that note, ehm, I don't think people on NS ever like sweeping generalisations. That is, some will do it to some and then others will complain. Then those others will do it to others and the some will complain.

That's true. Those generalizations are only spoken aloud in Christianity. Other religions don't ever vocalize them.
Oh and by the way, by saying critics of the Christian religion make generalizations regarding Christianity but not regarding Islam, you yourself are making a generalization. Hypocrite.
Ok my mistake:rolleyes:
Well, as long as you can admit it.

Maybe you was wrong in saying that no-one would, but you are kind of right. There would certainly be less complaints than if you were to generalise all muslims as evil terrosists.

My sarcastic smilie power doesn't seem to be working.
How about a leathal dosage of this!!

It could, of course, be an extra level of meaning.
Everyone else keeps quiet about their sweeping Generalisations, while Christianity proclaims them from the rooftops!
Or something.
And, as usual, I have nothing else to contribute. ^^;

Any genralisations from religious people do not count. This is purely about non religious people genralising.

I bet if there were more smilies and our posts could contain more, we could tell stories with just smilies. What fun.

Ok, I'm done now.

I would agree and on a more generalised and sweeping statment note, its because the majority of people who play this have some basic knowledge of how politics works and that sweeping statments dont work in politics.
HAPPY "SWEEPING GENERALIZATIONS-DAY" EVERYONE! :fluffle: :fluffle:
I've brought cake!
We are all happy! All of us! For there is cake! :D
And only because I've seen a ton of sweeping generalization-threads on NSG today.
Let's see... Evil religion, evil muslims, evil socialists/commies/liberals/lefties, useless armies (british)... Nothing on Christianity in particular though, unless you count the "worst religion" thread.

I can remember several threads made in the past few weeks trolling about how evil Christianity supposedly is. The trolls were refuted by the very same posters who rebuke those who generalise about Islam.

Selectivity is the fuel that feeds this ridiculous threads.
