Dogs are better. Dogs genuinely want to be your friends. Cats just want you to feed them on time.

I found this thread to be incredibly racist and offensive. Cat
Are you a cat, or a dog?
Cats! They're cleaner than dogs, smarter than dogs (dogs allow themselves to be commanded. Cats know better.), they can take care of themselves, and those that have been raised right from birth are very affectionate and loving.
Most of the problems people have with cats come from improper handling as kittens. Many cats are abused or unloved as kittens, which makes them mean. Cats don't just want to be fed on time, they're sweet, loving creatures when they're raised with love, just like dogs can be evil if they're raised wrong, but they can be sweet when raised with love.

I'm sure both are equally delicious if prepared properly. And you omitted the choice "I like both" for some reason...

My girlfriend is a cat person. She said her cats sleep eith her somethimes and I informed her of the truth. They're just being close to her so if she dies while she slept they'd be the first ones to devour the corpse...I love you Megan!!!

Yeah...the sharp teeth and the claws. I don't think she'd enjoy it too much either. Then there are the legal problems.

I don't have anything specific against cats, but dogs rock.
I like both cats and dogs.
As I am a "cat person", cats are virtually the only creatures I treat with any semblance of affection. Cats are intelligent, independent, and generally awesome. Not to mention they can use IRC a hell of a lot better than other such creatures.
Dogs, while they are not quite equivalent, are nonetheless a good deal more dependable and trustworthy than most humans; thus, I treat them quite well, but not on the same level as my special relationship with cats.
I treat creatures based on my respect for them. Thus:
Cats > dolphins > dogs > birds > [etc.] > mosquitoes > roaches > humans.
I stomp viciously on roaches and/or spray them with boric acid. Imagine what I do to the next level down. :)

Only when it's in a circle around an injured roach... I play with them that way.

I like snakes. They are quiet, don't demand attention, don't shed, only eat once a week, only defecate once a week, are real purdy and are more scary to the neighbors than the dog.

Poll shows exact tie at this moment.
I prefer cats, but I don't mind dogs. It's just when they get barking for no reason and then continue for a half an hour. Damn idiot things. They have no self-respect, is what it is. I don't respect an animal (or a person) that don't respect oneself.

But if forced to choose, I'd go with dogs, 'cause they're not as high-and-mighty. :p

Cats are loyal too. You just have to train them differently.

Cats are good for kicking...
MEEEEOOOOOOoooooooooooooow
Awww, they both have their strong points ;_;. We have eight cats and a dog--Bellamy, our Golden, is good for rough-housing, a fun time, slobbery kisses, taking for car rides, et cetera. The cats, on the other hand, are great for quiet lap sitting, holding tightly in my arms, rubbing against my face, and soothing me with purring.
There needs to be a "both" option T_T.
Also, it's fair to say that both cats and dogs can be douchebags too. I've found that a good number of cats are asshats, and more than a few dogs are total freaks.

Dogs!
Their stupidity is oft-amusing and I prefer a dog's loyalty to a cat's intelligence.
I have 3 dogs and no cats, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Where's the "Both" section?
Cats. They think for themselves, and their trust is hard to gain, but if you're worthy of it, they are the most adorable companions.

LOL. Funny in a insulting way. I personally like both though cats seem to always claw you even when they don't necessarily mean to.
