There's been alot of hype with the DaVinci Code book and the movie. I read it and liked it. Right now I'm reading another book of his called Angels & Demons. I think it's better than the DaVinci Code. he's writted other books which I haven't read. Which one do you like best? If any of them?

I read both "Digital Fortress" and "Angels and Demons". Both were astoundingly terrible. Angels and Demons is the better of the pair, although that's not saying much.

I liked Angels and Demons. I've read that and The DaVinci Code, and the former was by far my favourite.

Digital Fortress was a pile of crap, and I didn't like the DaVinci Code very much. Angels and Demons was pretty good, though.

They all suck, read Cryptonomicon instead, much better.

Cryptonomicon blows when compared to Snow Crash, and The Diamond Age
Stephenson is awesome, though.

He owns a copy of Lord of the Rings so I'd say that's his best book.

Lord of the Rings = Most overrated book EVER!!!
It's so boring, so long, so pointless, so poorly written...
I could go on.

I always get Dan Brown confused with Dale Brown. I really like the "Flight of the Old Dog".

It seemed more exciting before we had television.

He has different books? I thought they were all the same book with the names and a few minor events changed around.

IT was published between 1945 and 1955! We had television by the Return of the King!
Contemporary books, for example, Nineteen Eighty-Four and One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich, where much more exciting, better written, and profound, than that pile of LOTR. It pisses me off that almost no one knows Ivan Denisovich or Solzhenitsyn, but everyone knows Tolkein and LOTR.

The Lord of the Rings is my favorite book because i just like the story, but i'm not a fan of Tolkien in general. I've also read and enjoyed books like Crime and Punishment, The Idiot, Anna Karenina, Don Quixote, etc. I liked 1984 too. I love reading poetry and philosophy and my favorite writer is Shakespeare. LOTR is not the best written book i have ever read, but i still enjoyed it, it doesn't mean though that i don't also enjoy deeper, better written stuff.

I've never read anything by Dan Brown, and have never really been interested, so i can't comment on him.

Yes I'm kidding.

We only got electricity the week before.

No, actually, now that I've travelled around Australia a bit, Queensland seems a lot shinier and modern than most of the rest of Australia. Thirty years ago other Australians used to say Queensland was backwards, sort of like the American South up North downunder. But now they don't. Although I don't think the other states have ever forgiven Queenland for threatening to line up six thousand bulldozers and scrape everything south of the border into Bass Strait.

Ivan Denisovich is a great book, and so is Lord of the Rings. I can't stand to read Orwell though because he's so over-quoted.

Dan Brown is a hack.

Really? The only Orwell quote I can think of is "Boot stamping on a human face forever," and I only know that because of the namesake Bad Religion song.

Dan Brown is to literature as McDonalds is to fine cuisine:

It's fast, while you have it you might think it tastes good, but in the end you don't actually enjoy it much and it leaves you hungry for something substantial.
