Ok so I'm sure you've all heard of child soldiers and if you haven't then you should find out more about them. The children in the wars are forced to carry large weapons under the threat of DEATH! :sniper: This is something that can NOT be ignored but sadly it seems that countries are forgetting that this is a big issue and cannot be put away for later. Maybe they THINK they have something better to do and I'm sure its all important but this is being held off for far too long. :mp5:

I think if a guy is old enough to use a plain black Arial / Garamond / Times New Roman 12-point font, he is old enough to use an AK.

A point well made. While it may be horrible for children to be fighting in the armies of the Third World Nations, but do you know what happens if those Third World countries lose their wars? Their people end up being starved, raped, tortured, enslaved, and opressed for years, as opposed to dying a quick death from a bullet.

And what about the children of people working in the defence export industries? Has no-one thought of their welfare?

Thats a bit too simplistic, and also laced with poor factual understanding.

The children are not fighting in the armies of '3rd world nations' (what ever those are). They are fighting in rebel armies typically fighting against national governments (such as in Uganda - LRA).

Secondly, many of these countries that have internal civil wars with rebel armies, are suffering from the consequences of colonialism....their people were already starved, raped, tortured, enslaved and oppressed for years. The war makes no difference to that, neither will its winning or loosing (if there ever is such a thing as winning and loosing a civil war).

The jolt forums should take the liberty of removing the gun smilies. I hate them so much. That or put their posts in something awful.
