So, it's not just the Americans who take a dim view of Islam. The Germans apparently view them as a major threat.

Of the options given? I think a combination of the US and China. My reason: resource scarcity.

Militant Islam never was, is, or will be a major threat to the stability of any western country. It wasn't even able to depose the governments of Egypt and Libya back in . What makes you think it'll be a threat to any other country?

WalMart will become the sole global super power in less than ten years.

WalMart.:)

Because there are waaaaaaaaaaay too many of them.

The true threat is really human stupidity. Then again, it is stupid people who get into the Darwin Awards, so just maybe that will eventually be edited out through the process of so many stupid people removing themselves from the gene pool.:D

So WalMart remains on top.:)

The US. Pretty unlikely. We make too much money off them to piss them off.
Militant Islam, again pretty unlikely. They're are other countries that they would go after frst.
China, they seem to dig our money. There leader recently flew over to meet our leaders. I think overall we are cool with eachother.
Walmart. They can't even think about building a new store without massive protests. Nothing to worry about here.

THe US but that is because we created the atomic bomb and then shared it with others. That means that any nuclear threat in the future is all the fault of the US. :p

For threats to world peace? The US without a doubt.

For threats in general? I'd say Walmart, actually. I worry I may live to see the day corporations become the government, and Walmart, as the nation's (and perhaps the world's?) largest single employer would be at the forefront of that movement. Say what you will about the governments of the world - they are at least all pretty much founded on the principle of serving the people's best interests. A corporation that became the government would have no such restrictions, and would only serve its leaders' greed. I fear that more than 10 US's and everything Militant Islam can throw at us put together.

The biggest long term threat would have to be Russia or China.

Wal-Mart is one of the things keeping China and the US from fighting each other...the billions of dollars of international trade between the two nations is going to avert more wars than anything show of force by either side.

Militant Islam is the biggest threat because it has no qualms about killing innocents from any race, religion, or national origin and it is easily disguised under a sheen of populism...it thrives off of the desparation of the poor, the repressed, and encourages the forced ignorance of millions of people.

Resource nationalism would come in a close second, but it is much more easily vanquished than fundamentalism...you can use less oil and gas and replace it with local alternatives, but you can't stop the flow of ideas and you can't quickly reverse the effects that decades of repression have on those subjected to them.
