I like the hook on You Only Live Twice (plus, as sad as it is to admit, Tarantino and a co-worker have managed to turn me on to Nancy Sinatra). There's a quality to Nobody Does it Better and when Sex Mob and Medeski, Martin and Wood play it it kicks ass.

Live and Let Die is rockin' (also good when played by Sex Mob) and is used in one of the greatest music moments in filmdom. In Gross Point Blank it starts to play as the hit man drives up to where his childhood home has been replaced with a convinience store, amping up until he opens the door and walks in, where a musak version of the song continues to play. Fantastic.

Tom Jones makes for a fun song pretty much no matter what.

Same goes for Louis Armstrong...totally forgot he even did one.

Nancy Sinatra : You Only Live Twice. I always liked this one.

Forgot about Louis Armstrong, too. That film is always overlooked.

I gotta go with Live and Let Die as my favorite, although the actual James Bond theme is a close second.

I like "The living daylights"... After the classic Bond-theme and "Goldfinger". :)

The James Bond Theme is definitely the best of the bunch. Besides that, it's a toss-up for me between Live and Let Die and A View to a Kill.

Goldfinger. Also the best sound track of any of the Bond movies IMO.

And maybe the coolest villian line.

"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die."

I have to say that when I think James Bond the song that starts playing in my head is Goldfinger. Besides the theme song that's what I most associate with the movie series. Although the words are slightly different when it plays in my head:

Oldfingerrrrrr,
He's just getting old,
He drives a red carrrrrr,
He's a real wankerrrrrr,

Not that I don't enjoy the old James Bond movies. It's just that I'm cogenitally disrespectful.

I can listen to anything Shirley Bassey sings--she could sing the alphabet song and I'd stop what I was doing to listen, I love her voice so much.

Clearly the best is the actual bond theme, ie, the one from Dr No. Second and third are Goldeneye and Goldfinger.

The James Bond Theme by the Monty Norman Orchestra.

Diamonds are Forever by Shirley Bassey, Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney and Wings, We Have all the Time in the World by Louis Armstrong, and my guilty pleasure The World is not Enough by Garbage.

But the music has rarely been terrible in the franchise's history. Unlike recent scripts.

I'm listening to them all right now. Just cos.

"The Living Daylights" is one of my favourites (one of my favourite movies, too), possible tied with "Goldeneye" or "Tomorrow Never Dies" for my absolute favourite - though "License to Kill" and "Thunderball" are also amazing. And the actual James Bond Theme, of course; nothing quite beats that. "Goldfinger" is good, too... actually, I like them all, what can I say?
