I can't work out how to actually pick my squad. I can't work out how to scroll through the list of available players, nor can I find an "update" button to add players to my squad once I've ticked the box. Anyone able to help?

I guessed that. We actually have about 10 players in common I think, just that those two were probably the least obvious.

I think it sucks you can only choose three players from a country. My team would have looked a lot different if you could choose more players from the same country.

I think the same applies to all of us, but it does require that you know a little about more teams than just your own nation, Brazil, Spain and Italy. (or whatever little group that you happen to follow)

That was a harder choice than I thought it would be. Gotta weigh up how long a team is likely to last in the tounament, who they are facing in the group stage as well as how good the individual players are.

You can do two transfers at the end of the group stage, then two before the quarter finals. Could get rid of the players that aren't in the tournament anymore then.

If you go to the home page and click on the Ronald Mcdonald :gundge: overhead kick image you gain one more transfer at each stage and info about player popularity etc.

I was looking at it from the point of view that Germany and Sweden probably won't concede too many in the group stages, and those two are perhaps the best defenders for each country. So in they went.

Sweden in my opinion. They were more than impressive in qualifying (as opposed to Germany who didn't have to.)

Possibly, but Germany will have a few (fairly easy) matches under their belt by then. Germany will either cruise it or lose.

You'll get some idea of my knowledge of football by the fact that I've picked Paraguan Julio Cesar Caceres purely on the basis that his name is "Julio Cesar", which is close enough for me.

My son picked the Swiss player 'Tranquillo Baretta" for pretty much the same type of reason (not in the NS general group). So you are doing as well as a Brazilian in choosing yopur soccer players.

Still plenty of room for more teams.

If it's the page with a list of 'Fans of XX country', you can pick one. You can join as many groups as you like, I think. Then when you've made your team, there should be a tab saying 'Groups' or something like that. Click that, choose 'Join Private Group' (something like that) and enter the ID and password.

I guess that Yahoo.com does not expect much interest in the USA so it will be buried somewhere. I live in Brazil, and as such yahoo.com.br expects to get a lot of players for this game and it is featured on their opening page.

I'm surprised there aren't more people interested in playing. The World Cup is huge news here in Aus at the moment.

It would be highly unusual to have more than three or four players playing on any given day during the group phase of the cup.

p.s. be careful with Rooney - he is highly unlikely to be fit until the knock out stages, and even then there is considerable doubt.
