So, meh. How was your day?

IL Ruffino

Today sucked.

Started off with a test first period, then second period we did nothing so I went to the library hoping to start the powerpoint presintation that was due today but we had a month to do it.. I started it yesterday.

Anyway, didn't get a damn thing done. Third period I went to my computer aplication classes. Put my headphones on and listened to music, then the asshole substitute made me take them off, THEN I see another student with headphones on and what happens to him? Nothing.

Well blah. Got my presentation done, then went to fourth period. Took notes and answered a question with the right answer, guess what the idiots in my class do? They say "good job! you da man" .. not nice compliments, seeing as they were mocking me, or something.

So by now I'm annoyed and a lil mad. Fifth period, presentation time, yay. I go first because I just wanted to get it over with. I go through the presentation way too fast, use the word "like" about 50 times, and make an ass out of my self.

Wondering what I mean by saying I used the word "like"?

This is the chaparral biome. It's like dry and like warm like all the time. *click next slide* The soil is.. like.. the quality is crap. Living here is like.. summer.
I was annoyed at the fact that I was confident in doing this, then got there and made an ass out of myself.

Then lunch was fine, had a soft pretzle and cheese, mmmm.

Sixthe period we had a test I didn't even know about, I got a 27% on it (lol). Seventh period, yet another test, went to the library, got on google and looked for the answers.

Got called to the office and got a detention, like I care, but I thought it was worse, so I was freaking out.. then I was grumpy, bus came, stupid EMO asshole took my seat.

Blah.

Holy shit I wrote too much.

My day was dull.

I am one of few students staying in Residence over the Summer, and one of even fewer who have a meal plan. Typically this makes for lonely lunches. There are a few dozen soldiers living on campus, they come every year, but so far I have not gotten to know any. This lunch, however, I did meet a few of the other civvies, which was nice. 'Had an interesting talk about family history. I also met an Irish Olympic high-jumper, something novel for me.

The day continues with playing on the comp, procrastinating from doing schoolwork. There is a residence party tonight, though, so I will go hang out with the TV-lounge folks.

Dull, but content.

Overslept for school, (but I'm on study leave anyway so I only go in because I get 10 times more revision done), as a result I stay at home and hardly got any revision done, I've got to learn 6 Latin poems by heart (and Roman poetry is utter shite), one of which is 80 lines long. That's on top of learing annotations for a load of other poems (in English), and my ICT half GCSE exam. At least I've got till Tuesday.

My day's been just fine, I suppose..though a beer does sound nice. I slept until 1pm because I've been out of class since May 5th..had breakfast, and now I'm about to shower and then take my pet rabbit, Frank, out for a hop. Yes, a hop. I can't exactly take him out for a walk because the little bugger doesn't walk..he hops.

Today in the office was alright, but I've come home to an essay. It's actually due on Monday, but I'm starting a new full-time job then (w00t...I think), so I won't have a chance to hand it in. Therefore, it needs to go in tomorrow (current employers are letting me have the afternoon off to swan off to Dublin anyway).

I am so fucking sick of looking at the thing (regarding efficiency in criminal justice management ), and have a long way to go with it...So here I am on General. I've had better evenings!

sounds like a shitty stressful day indeed, ruffy :-S
have a fluffle (and a spliff) and relax :fluffle:

i hated it at school/uni when people took the piss out of you for doing what you're supposed to be doing there... "lol, look at the loser working... hahah loser, you're working... stupid working loser! what do you want, like, a degree?"

anyway today was the day after my birthday, so it was really shit in the morning cos i didn't want to start today and by doing so, end the great day i had yesterday and last night. felt like i was going back to the same-old, same-old grind and rut that i'm usually in after escaping yesterday and having such a good time. but then got over it and got some work done - did some clever stuff with some web forms and things like that, managed to work out how to set this stuff up for free when it'd been budgeted at at least a grand to do (woo saving money!) so... that was good :)
other than that i've been playing civ4 and talking to glitz intermittently. gonna have tea soon, and that's about it... all in all: ok.

NSTracker; it loads more easily. I could use sunset, but I don't have the link, and there's no "compare nations" feature.

I'm using some data on the top 1000 in the world from yesterday, but the strange thing is the highest nation on my list was #110 for largest defence spending yesterday, and it spends twice as much as #1. I have no idea how that ranking works.

My day is going alright. Woke up at 6, got ready and left for work. Not much eventful going on in the office today. Opened a piece of mail from yesterday that I'd just stuck in my purse, found out the dinner reception for the funeral I'm going to tomorrow in LA has a strict dress code. Proceeded to freak out because I don't have anything that meets their dress code. So I'll be going shopping for something suitable to wear to the LA Country Club when I get off work, which sucks because I don't have much money for non-essentials right now. Other than that, it's been a pretty boring day.

I don't drink beer, myself, but... meh.

First period: demand essay on Shakespeare's "Sonnet 138", which isn't necessarily a bad thing - I tend to like english - but I forgot to put quotations around the poem's title. And apparently, my topic sentence wasn't of the style that we were supposed to use. Bite me.

Second period: Hey, Gwynne Dyer came to talk! I love that guy - forth time I've seen him. Sadly, I am so sleep deprived that... I feel asleep. In the middle of my favourite speaker's presentation, I fell asleep. *still hasn't quite forgiven herself* Plus, my boyfriend was supposed to show to watch the presentation with me, and definately didn't... meh.

Lunch, whoo, band practice... my arms and back are sore from a cross between playing football with the guys yesterday at lunch (and by play, I mean, I really don't. They just thought it was cute to make me throw the stupid, oddly-shaped ball, and run in a skirt and sandals.), and sleeping on the bloody floor last night (my room's being redone, and I have no bed.)

After lunch... spares, rather tedious, though I do get to post here. And talk to the boyfriend, which is nice. (Actually, I just convinced him to come after school and take part in the "sports day" fundraiser with me - there's a little uplift. Plus, he just told me that my grad present's done, and I might get it tonight. Also a good thing.)

So, I guess I should upgrade my rating of the day from "meh" to "not bad - possibly even good".

By the way, it was an experiment to see if different types of fruit flies could survive better in the presense of alcohol than other... So, for those who are thing, yep, i was watching drunk fruit flies... before I'd even started something like a quarter of them had already escaped; a great start:rolleyes:

Sonnet 116 is my all-time favourite. "Love is not love that alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to be removed. Oh, no! it is an ever fix'ed mark, which looks upon tempests and is never shaken..."

And I'm not actually a bad writer myself, since I got perfect on the paper.

You told the girl you loved that another girl was prettier than her? Are you DAFT? How did that even come up? "By the way, I saw this girl today... way prettier than you. But I love you, you know." You just... don't do that. :p
Maybe he/she grades easily. I wrote lots of perfect papers...the morning they were due. :p
That's my close second, but I'll stick with 106.
*rummages for sonnets*
"When in the chronicle of wasted time
I see descriptions of the fairest wights,
And beauty making beautiful old rhyme
In praise of ladies dead, and lovely knights;
Then in the blazon of sweet beauty's best
Of hand, of foot, of lip, of eye, of brow,
I see their antique pen would have exprest
Ev'n such a beauty as you master now.
So all their praises are but prophecies
Of this our time, all, you prefiguring.
And for they look'd but with divining eyes,
They had not skill enough your worth to sing:
For we, which now behold these present days,
Have eyes to wonder, but lack tongues to praise.

Oh, and to the idiot, I'm not so sure you love her if you could find someone else more beautiful. From my experience, love paints a portrait of its object more lovely than any human host.

Physics comes to me intuitively, or so I discovered on my last Physics exam. I couldn't remember how to solve a problem, so I made up an equation relating the components of the information I had available. Got the right answer. But I'm not you, so you should prolly be worried.:D

Half and Half. I made the final round of musical theatre auditions (got a 50% chance of being next year's Eliza Doolittle), but drama class today only reminded me that, despite doing a better job than them in audtions, two of my former competitors still have more friends than I do, and are still immensely more popular within the drama room. I wish I could rub in their faces the fact that someone not from their little "drama people" group (fyi: you can't just love drama to get in. You also have to make out with guys 2 or 3 years younger than you) is going to get the lead role, but I felt too guilty since they were all red and puffy about not getting the part.

Woke up like 9ish, had a shower and all. Read the newspaper (stared blankly at the pages for a bit). Realized I was late for English so I booked it over to school. Went home, had some crackers and cheese for lunch. Did some Chemistry stuff, watched TV (and hung out here!) for a bit. Made my way back to school for chem (got 100 on the stuff I did....acid/base titration or something). Made arrangements to do my lab for that stuff in chem for nest Monday seeing as I'm gone tomorrow and Friday. Made my way back home, packed for the weekend (camping thing). Realized I ahd missed my girl all day, so hopped onto the computer and defended her honour against some pervert and then showed up here.....it was meh kinda day.

I couldn't do that method. I'd always use the excuse that no one would understand what I meant (because of all the stilted diction and large vocabulary that I use in speech but not online). Understandably. Victoria is on Vancouver Island. Or you could blame it on internet pedophiles. It's close enough to the truth.

Alternately, you could build a dead body resembling yours, and... you get the picture...

True...but that'd just make things worse...I mean, you ever think the people who get in great loving relationships over the internet get on the news? I know a married couple what met through teh interwebs. And of course, their usually doing excessively stupid things. Yeah, go ahead and get in a car with someone you don't actually know and let them take you wherever they want.

'Ey, my Erin has a boyfriend already, I'm screwed too. What's happened to you?
So does mine. That's partly what's so funny about it, I suppose. Go here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=470854&page=6) for the "Yay! Story Time!" version of it. I won't link you directly to the story because that's too easy, but you'll find it easily enough. To tell it better, well, I had a dream about my Erin. She was, as you may have guessed, a Queen in Athens, ruling without a king, conveniently enough. She was staring between Doric pillars, musing to herself; I was meters away doing the same. A random rebel materialized behind her and impaled her heart with his spear through her back. I ran over and slashed his throat with my kipuri(sp?; Greek for short sword) before I could comprehend what was happening. I watched the inner light slowly fade from her eyes as her breath softened slowly to a halt. When I told my friends about it, the couple of them who responded to it told me I was in love with her. For months they maintained this. One of them was my apprentice, actually. The other one taunted me more, though. (I guess I hadn't quite taught her well enough at that point.) Then on Valentine's Day, I composed a poem in my sleep, but I couldn't remember it when I woke suddenly. I wrote one anyway, trying to recapture the essence of the original poem. Naturally, they exploited the moment to press further their notion that I loved her. I actually had no choice but to consider the possiblity. I even started a Karmic War with the nameless one to prove my point in reading the metaphysical signs. He still insists I love her, but I know I don't now. I believe I was in love with the notion of being in love, so I grasped at whatever I could to create the illusion for myself, so powerful is love. Besides, on the final two occasions I could have said a final farewell from physical presence, I've not seen her, and I had prepared a month in advance what I would write in her yearbook. I took that as cosmic evidence that it really isn't meant to be, but he refuses to believe me. He still insists I should ask her out; her boyfriend doesn't seem to dissuade him from insisting. But I found a method of vengeance. He couldn't escape karma for all those months of randomly, and frequently, saying "Queen of Athens." The poem still isn't quite finished, but for her birthday I gave her the most recent copy at the time. Yes, she did know about the dream. I also gave my apprentice a copy for her birthday, which was a day before the Queen's and a day after my four-year-old twin siblings' birthday. And like the nameless one saying "Queen of Athens daily, in three classes, all hour, I cannot seem to escape things reminding me of Queen of Athens.
I would say I'm sorry for the long post, but you literally asked for it.:D Hope ya have fun reading it! :p

Ooooh...I see...Well, just ask to speak with her in private, or to step aside.
Last time I saw her, I asker boyfriend's permission for one final embrace. But that was before I realized I'd see her eight days later. I'll prolly take that approach again. But if I can be more subtle and catch her alone, that would suit the moment better. Which is why I really have to wait until the end and not the beginning. Problem is, I usually miss the last opportunity and have another regret to add to the pile. That would be the heaviest yet added, too. Oh well, more incentive to be very, very cautious with my timing. The fun/tragic part will be seeing her reaction to something wholly uncharacteristic of me. No one is used to me expressing many things other than arrogance or mild amusement. Hopefully it will have the lasting impression I'm hoping for.

Got up at 5:00 so that I could go to Travis Air Force Base to get my I.D. renewed. When we got there at 6:30, it turns out that it was closed today. I then get to school at 8:00, leaving no time for my nature walk and reading session. First period: Art. We have to draw our hands representing our personality. I drew both of my hands doing the crossing hammer and sickle. Someone called me a commie bastard. I ignored him, but then he came up to me. I asked him if he supported things socialism supported without telling him socialism supported it. He agreed with most all of it. I then got to laugh at him. I got an A on my drawing. Second period: Math. I complete my homework in 1/5 of the time as everyone else, as always. I read Red Mars, which I just started today, for the rest of the period. Third period: English. The teacher reads off the AR (Accelerated Reader) point list, (note that the last day to do AR is tomorrow, and I'm not going to school tomorrow), and I have zero. I explained that I perfer to read good books, not the crap books on the AR list. She then backs down. Rest of the period is spent reading Macbeth. Fourth period: Science. We have to do an annoying activity building a model of each of the planets season and day phases. Fifth period: Civil war test. For my essay, which is an eyewitness account of an event of the civil war, I write a letter home to "ma" about witnessing Pickett's charge. Sixth period: Phys. Ed. We get the principal as a substitute, AGAIN! He does his boot camp crap again. Push-ups come. Because of my femur appraxia, it looks like I'm humping the floor instead of doing a push-up. So I get made fun of, and have to stay after school to do them right, which takes an hour. Because of this, I cannot get my I.D. after school, thereby pissing off my parents, leading to verbal abuse. I get home, get on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory for about four hours, do my MySpace crap, then come on here.

I laugh at your plight!
