Whats up with these germans anyways? Does everyone get mistaken for them? I was also mistaken for a german countles times, especially in South Europe. While visiting Egypt, some local kids made me the nazi salute. And no, it wasnt because of how I dressed, I was wearing shorts and tshirts!

Well, my dad is Punjabi from Pakistan, my mom is Cherokee and Scottish from Alabama, and I grew up in the Philppines, so I've pretty much been mistaken for every brown-skinned ethnicity imaginable. Seems the most popular choices are Greek, Italian, Iranian, Arab or Latin American, although I've heard weirder on occasion...

...such as the time a man in Manila asked me if I was an 'Israelite'; sadly only later did it occur to me to respond, "No, my dad's Amalekite and my mom's a Moabite". Oh the 20/20 vision of hindsight... :D

I was wondering if anyone else out there ever gets mistaken as having someone else's ethnicity/nationality.

People often think I am "ethnic-looking" but I've never heard one ethnicity over another. Some I've gotten are Russian, Irish, Spanish, Italian, and from Greece (I hate saying Grecian, like I'm an urn). I don't know what I am since my mother was adopted AND I look nothing like her. Nobody in my father's family has olive-toned skin, and my mom sure doesn't, so who knows.
