I lived on Rodos for a few months last year. The Greeks are probably the friendliest people I've ever come into contact with. Why do you ask?

Over here in Australia, they tend to monopolise the fish'n chip industry. Good on em...

Just be careful with the ladies if your actually in Greece. It might just be where I was but sleeping with them and not marrying them afterwards was a quick way to cut short your visit kinda permanently.

They make good fish n chips.
They can make bloody awful fnc's also.
They are peasants.
In WWII they really stuffed up the Mediterrainean theatre.
They have a habit of putting people in hessian sacks with starving cats and letting the cats claw the person to death.

Greek people I've met

- A fat and annoying wise ass
- A handsome film student
- A very nice professor, quite beautiful
- A mean, loud and arrogant female
- A nice, knows-he's-quite-famous film director
- the rest (who I've met abroad, but don't really know anything about)

And what to make of it? Nothing.

All the Greek men I have ever met have been arrogant, sexist assholes.

(note - this is just my limited experience of meeting mainly young Greeks in the UK - I haven't been to Greece itself)

They're probably great, although unfortunately most of my information comes from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

The main diet of the Greek consists of monkey brains, berries and plantains. They make a living off of selling the blubber of the airwhale harpooning industry. They communicate with each other using variations of the single word, "Zorba." Greeks grow no larger than three stacked apples in height.

Meh, I judge individuals, not nationalities.

Most of the people in their myths and legends are assholes, including the Acheans who were anachronus with the Hellenes.

One of my best friends is half greek... although a guy I know from school who is completely greek said that means he doesn't count.

But yeah, my friend is a great guy, slightly crazy, a lot of fun, we've joked about getting married so we could get my initials to spell sex... his dad's pretty funny too... that is the extent of my exposure to greek people. (other than the one jerk from my class who was just annoying as hell... but I choose not to count him)

Melbourne has a very large Greek population, allegedly the 3rd largest Greek population in the world (there are something like 1 million people of Greek descent living in Aus). I find they're pretty much like everyone else; people.

I love a good souvlaki, particularly after a night out on the turps.

I lived in Cyprus for a year, so I've only ever encountered Cypriot Greeks. I love the culture. I love the food. I met some very amazing people while there.

I heard that Greeks keep their washing machines in their bathrooms, that seems a bit weird, but not weird enough for me to actually object to it.
