I have been betrayed.

So, on the way home from work, I turn on the radio to 760 A.M., like I always do. It's the local affiliate for Air America. Though as a Libertarian I disagree with some of what the peeps say--and it's usually minor disagreements at that--it's a damned sight easier to stomach than, say, Mike Rosen or some other Republican spokesperson.

Until today, that is.

See, Randy Rhodes was going on about the times of when fighters were up in the air after the attack on the Pentagon, which intrigued me. Listening in some more, I heard a self-proclaimed conservative call in and berate her about conspiracy blabbing. She cut him off after only a few seconds and blabbed on for about two minutes about Flight 77 supposedly being 7000 feet in the air when it neared the Pentagon. Then she calls this self-proclaimed liberal dick onto the air(don't screen their phone calls my ass) who starts blabbing on about how there was absolutely zero amounts of evidence of a plane smashing into the Pentagon, and then he brings up fricking Loose Change! I was steaming mad about this idiocy right then, but what's more, as he talked on, RANDY AGREED WITH EVERYTHING HE SAID!

At that point, I lost it. I turned my radio off and fumed in my vehicle. I'm glad this happened during that area of construction, as otherwise I might have gunned the engine and smashed somebody from my temporary loss of temper.

I've always thought that, while it definitely does NOT portray all of my views, Air America has been quite reliable and not to mention fun to listen to. But this? This...this lunacy? I've been betrayed. It's ridiculous that they could believe that shit. I just don't understand them. Democrats, if you want to get your heads in the game, quit harping on with conspiracy theories and stick to the science-damned truth!

It's a lunacy that is a natural part of American politics whether you are Democrat or Republican - if you're dyed-in-the-wool hard to either side, you MUST believe in the tinfoil hat bullshit.

I WATCHED the jet hit the Pentagon. Kinda hard for me to buy any conspiracy theory on that one.

The problem behind what you said is that you seem to be using actual RATIONAL THOUGHT... I dont think the far far left OR the far far right really have much Rational behind their conspiracy theories.

I can believe in the plane, but I don't think I'll ever believe in the Pentagon.

This conspiracy theory stuff seems to be getting Rampant on Air America. I would suggest an all out boycot on the station until they start speaking sense. (not that anyone is really listening to them now).

Goes to show that Air America is like all the other talk stations out there. glad you got your shock.

How ironic. That is the station I listen to Michael Savage on here.

With the main idea of the thread though, I would have to agree with Deep Kimshi. I would also agree with Danmarc and Corneliu.

When you're dealing with the extremes on either side, you have to realize that they buy in to the tinfoil hat garbage without question because it fits their ideology; they don't give a shit about the facts or logic because their worldview prohibits rational thought.

It was the same thing in the 90's with Waco and Oklaholma City; the nutjob right had a whole bevy of conspiracy theories about that one and now that 9/11 occured the nutjob left has their own event to shape a conspiracy theory. The Clinton conspiracy is now the Bush conspiracy, and then it will become the Whatever conspiarcy.

I saw the planes hit the WTC...I don't even need to have the mountains of evidence to tell me it wasn't a conspiracy.

I disagree completely, except about crazy conservatives being crazy. There are sane conservatives; theoretically, at least.

is this really the first time you have noticed that randy rhodes can be nutz?

i seldom get to listen to her--maybe a dozen times total-- and ive noticed a distinct tendency to say outrageously stupid things. not all the time, probably 10 out of that dozen times she has said things that i prettymuch totally agreed with but the other 2 were over the top.

too bad i cant remember anything but the outrage.

Yeah I suppose I should just hope the Dems get their act together to stike THIS year, with Bush's numbers so low everyone seems to agree that this is a great chance for them but they are just wasting it fighting amongst themselves. It is REALLY irritating.

To be honest, I do not particularly care if they do or not. I just want to know what there messege is and how they want to go about accomplishing it.

I always said the leadership was messed up in the head. Sometimes I wonder if the Republican Party has the same trouble in some of their leadership posts.

Technically, since there were multiple people involved in the attacks, it is defined as a conspiracy.

So I'm pedantic, or whatever the hell the word used in this situation would be.
