Violates civil liberties. Both in the US and UK from what I've seen.

If you wish death to America, fight for Alqaeda, and actively work towards harming American interests chances are your rights will be violated horribly.

The War on Terror is necessary to keep the fighting on foreign soil and away from God-fearing Americans' homes. God Bless George W Bush for his efforts in stopping the terrorists and cracking down on immorality here at home, such as homosexuality, evolution, and stem-cell research. Statistics show that Americans begin to fall into these types of behavior when they stop attending church and believing in Jesus, who protects us from the Muslamics through our great and wise president.

I declare puppet trolling!

Furthermore, my stance on this is that it has been bungled and mangled from the beginning. Regardless of the original intent, it most surely does not serve our interests.

I'm not trolling. And why do people keep thinking I'm a puppet? Hell, first I'm called Hataria's puppet, now this...

Do I say something puppet-ish?

1) Why are they immoral?

2) If one does not believe in hell, one cannot really go to it.

Listen to him, he is a true God-fearing Christian. Please, repent your sinful ways, purchase an SUV and always vote Republican. Our soldiers are working hard spreading freedom, the least you can do is support our heroic leader George W Bush.

I find it interesting that U.S. voters are roughly split (very roughly, with fraying edges and everything), but ALL non-U.S. voters think that it's a plot to remove civil liberties.

Coincidence? Of course not.

Something about Ginnoria's posts makes me think that Ginnoria is playing the Devil's advocate. Maybe the similarities between Ginnoria's recent posts and my occasional Devil's advocate posts have something to do with this suspicion.

-------------------------------------

Back to topic... I voted "other" on the poll. Acting against nations that support terrorism seems reasonable to me, but we have not been acting against such nations since May 2003. (Also note that you really can't declare war on a noun. It's hard to defeat nouns with bombs and bullets.)

That said, I oppose the executive branch's current trend of curtailing civil liberties in the name of fighting terrorism. In other words, I don't necessarily think the "War on Terror" is a fraud, but the American leadership definitely isn't executing it properly... and the "War" needs to be renamed in any case.

I find that religious debate on a war issue doesn't seem in place. Myself, an atheist, would beleive that the war on terror isn't going to be easy, and it will involve not religion, but ideology. It is necessary and it should keep going until the problem is solved. Bringing democracy to Iraq is a decent idea, but a slow one. The people who oppose it would be the same ones protesting later of people commiting terrorist acts and the US doing nothing.

The hypocrites in the US and around the world never cease to amaze me, you give them what they want, and the same people come back and say: "What the hell are you doing here? This can't be right."
