I was bored today (and still am) so I went ahead and built the truck I'll buy when I graduate from college. A nice big diesel guzzling Ford truck. Granted I don't care for Ford's policies but I will admit they make a fine truck.

I would like to buy a chevy, but they are more for less. Regular cab 6 litre diesel on a weaker frame than the ford for 34K, while the ford is a supercab and has more options for less.

Hehe, back in year nine me and my friend spent many a happy history leson designing our favourite truck.
It was a big old 18-wheeler, with an awesome sound system in the cab, and the windshield converts to a plasma screen with Xbox, ps2 etc etc. There was built in GPS linked to the cruise control, and infra-red sensors on the front so you could literally put it on cruise control and it would drive itself, and if anything was coming the other way the infra-red sensors would either alert you so you can steer out of the way, or jsut do it all automatically :D Oh and the back of the truck had a small swimming pool too. And the truck itself was jet black with electric-blue flames going along the sides.
There was a whole load of equally awesome and unfeasible stuff that I can't remember. Needless to say it was a childhood dream, and pretty much impossible as you may have noticed.
But it woulda been awesome to have :D
If you are going to buy a gas guzzling monster, you need to do it right and go with the Dodge SRT-10.

I could never find a use for it. I like diesels better than gas though....

Anyone see the top gear episode where they test-drove a ford truck?
Apparently, they are a bit rubbish.

I bought myself an SUV of chrome and glass and steel
I loved the way it made me look and how it made me feel
I drove it round the block to give my neighbors time to see
My vision of perfection, my SUV and me
Some were so consumed with envy they were turning green
Mine was the biggest SUV that they had ever seen.
I'd got the Mega Magnum El Supremo Model Four
With thirteen-hundred windows and sixty-seven doors
It had a rocket powered engine that could lift a jumbo jet
The most expensive ever made, the best that I could get
It had a thousand-gallon fuel tank and supersonic style
On a single tank of gasoline it could almost get ten miles.

Funny
Though SUV's are worthless in my case ... its got to be something I can use on the farm ... my 1500 is just not big enough to cut it these days

A Ford F-150.
Before he drove it Jeremy Clarkson said the worst car he'd ever driven was a viatnamese rip-off jeep. After he said...."This is the worst vehicle I have ever driven, and that includes tanks."
Another great quote is, "0-60mph in a millionth of a second. Enough space in the back for a dead bear. And on a challenging road about as much fun as a wasabi enema."

Meh, looks about the same as a Mitsubishi L200 and probably has worse fuel efficiency. Don't see why anyone would need anything like that anyway, unless they work as a national park ranger.

I've a feeling that by the time all of you talking about these trucks will be looking to get one, we'll be in a whole different era that will force you to get something else.

2-3 years until I'll actually be able to afford the Tacoma. I'm saving up money now because I don't plan on financing it. I'm going to save a ton of cash by not financing and oweing money on it.

Heard lots of good about the Tacoma, apparantly they are quite fun to drive.
The truck that gets me all jiggy in the pants is the Dodge Ram 3500 w/ the Cummins Turbo Deisel.

I love diesel trucks. However, noone seems to make a good one nowadays, leading me to either getting a gas truck (Tacoma) or swapping a good diesel engine out of a nice 80's benz into a late model taco. A match made in heaven.

Dodges make decent Diesels. Enough torque to shake two sticks at. Found reliability is good too. However, they are one monster of a truck. IRL, I would try to steal the Diesel from a Jetta and force it to fit an S10 or an Dakota (Chev and Dodge, resp.).
