I'm going to begin studying liguistics in college next year, and I love making conlangs. I said that I would want to learn all the languages of the world.

Gimme the island!

The languages are cool, but I'm not sure what the application is that improves my life. Maybe if that includes all computer languages, too.

I went with the IQ. If I'm the world's smartest human, I'm sure I can make something from that.

I'll take the island. Sucks that I have to buy my own fishing boat, but if I rent out the cottage for a couple of summers I should have enough money.

From being president you can get most of these (namely, the money, the car, the languages, both TV complexes, the star wedding, the manservant [though you gotta pay him]) So I'm gonna go with that. Besides, I go down in history for that, how many enzo drivers go down in history?

i put down that id want to learn all the languages in the world. i know around 6-7 now and i received many a good job offers, if i knew all the languages...well i think id be well off. imagine the agencies that i would work for...all that money, i could get whatever i want....yeah, good choice girly. :D

My best-case scenario involves me, my wife, a dozen Playboy Bunnies and 10,000 gallons of butterscotch pudding. :)

But I'll settle for the island.

Besides, I go down in history for that, how many enzo drivers go down in history?

My point is, you can make a buttload of money just a) translating things people say, which is really easy if you are fluent in both languages, or b) work on any computer program you want without looking shit up in manuals. And yeah, it would be fun and cool to do either.

So, do you guys like this post, or the death post better? It's not a hard choice...should I make poll?

This one is better. I'd rather think about these things than what it would feel like to be turned inside out.

I chose the Island, but knowing all languages would be my second choice.

I chose the I.Q. option, because having an I.Q. of 264 would be awesome. (My I.Q. was last tested when I was about 6, and it was about 132. I have no clue what it is now.)

I'd like to learn to curse in every language in the world. That would be interesting.

I'll go with the languages - some ancient Egyptian curses only work when spoken out aloud :D

I can't choose any option. All of them have pros and cons equal to one another. Choosing one would make me forever kick myself in the balls for not choosing [insert another option here], and visa versa.

I'd go with being president. All sorts of benefits, such as finding out what really IS at Groom Lake. And the ability to pardon every single person in the country convicted of drug charges.

Afterwards, you still make around $200,000 a year, just for being an ex-president. Works for me.

Ouch. Bad move. It took me months of intelligent posts to shake off the "IQ dropper" label. A hint- don't mention an advanced degree if you have one. That's just as hard to outlive.

So long as you realise this. I have a high IQ, but I do not see what I could possibly gain about bragging about it. It matters little in reality. As you said, there are equally (or even more) important things out there.

I picked double my IQ, and then i'd have an IQ of...*counts on fingers* uh...well, um...it'd be double what it is now, anyway!

If I could choose..I would do something like Cabra said and turn back time and do stuff differently...but as that is NOT on the list I went for the private Island with the nice cottage...I could live there if I wanted or rent it out and buy stuff instead!

the cars and tv's are crap as far as i'm concerned. as for going into politics, if i had a thick enough skin, which i know i don't, i'd be in there already.

of course the kind of world i'd prefer to be living in would be worth more to me then all of everything else put togather.

island sure. island's just fine. although my preference is for forrested mountainsides. island that's got that would be ok too.

My island would have a little harbour, a castle (ancient but cosy) and a small vinyard. Actually I suppose its hte same attraction as having a nation in NS.
