I am skeptical about the credibility of any party that labels itself "socialist" and is a member of the Socialist International, considering that both the British and Australian Labour parties are members.

These parties have at least one thing in common; they like to spout working class rhetoric while doing the exact opposite thing. Not that it's much of an issue with this party considering the US political system.

well considering the USA only has republican or Democrats---maybe giving a smaller party like this a chance would be a breath of fresh air. Then again everyone will say COMMUNIST which they are not.

Right. They are socialists and we have seen what socialists can do. *looks at Britain, France, Spain as examples*

Well, the issue is less with there being no choice and more with the US population being unwilling to vote in significant numbers for a third party. You have your Greens, Libertarians, etc. already out there, and they aren't making much of a showing.

The problem, as I see it, thou I hate to say it, it that these parties take votes away from the democrat’s much more often than the republicans, and right now that’s the last thing we need. We need to get the Democratic Party together for a strong showing. I would love to see more than two parties, but its unrealistic at this time.

Well maybe if the Democrats actually put up someone that is intelligent and that the same party has a plan... maybe they would be stronger.

Surely the threat of the Democrats losing votes to these minor parties would force them to evaluate their policies and attempt to appeal to the protest voters?
