Other - what kind of fool would get a character tattooed onto them?

Not me. Picture this - I'm at the shops and an attractive young lady comes up to me (I said picture this, it's quite unlikely :p).

Girl - "Ooh, cool tattoo, who's that?"
Me - "It's my man Sonic. Big up the Megadrive massive!"
Girl - "Hmm I'm off to buy something else in a different shop and if you come within fifty metres of me, I'll put a restraining order on you."

I've been thinking about getting a goomba tattoo for quite some time now.

I would get the Intellivision "Running Man" in his six sequential positions, pixels and all, on my left shoulder. Intellivision kicked ass. Screw the 2600.

I'd struggle to justify getting a game character tattoo...and I have two others so far:

A dagger with a rose around it with "Rob and Bill" on my left shoulder (When I say shoulder I mean shoulder...not back/shoulder blade) for my two cousins who died in a car wreck.

A Old English "B" on my right shoulder for my family. (My brother and I are the only two left with our last name)

Tattoos are about self decoration. Is it "bullshit" to get your ears pierced if lots of other people also have their ears pierced? Is it "bullshit" to wear jeans if everybody else is also wearing jeans?

Some people try to attribute deep meaning to their tats. If somebody tries to do that with a tribal design, feel free to slap them. They're pretty clearly full of themselves.

I have several tattoos already- I would not do something as lame as getting a video game character. Girls can get ink of butterflies, and frogs, and cartoon characters, etc but guys cannot. I place video game characters in that same category.


I apologise to any women who may feel insulted by that remark. I know there are some bad ass women out there who can probably kick my ass, I just wanted to express my opinion that VG character tattoos are weak. And in guyspeak, that is expressed by calling someone girly. Not you, but those playing with dolls and ponys girls.

I wouldn't get a tattoo of a character, but I might get a symbol from a game. I once thought of getting the Triforce pasted on my arm.

tattoos have never apealed to me. it is not because i am scared of getting a tattoo. it is more of a lack of interest in something that i want to have permanently placed on my skin.

I have two right now too...I'll be getting many many more over time, once I determine what I want and where. game character tho? no. I don't play many video games very often, and really couldn't justify it in any way. except maybe binge drinking.
