i am for guest workers,i believe 99% of immigrants are decent hardworking people,looking for a better life..no doubt.

should we just look the other way at the gangs and drug traffickers and leave the border open?

we need to find a way to allow honest people to come and stop the gangs.

it would be nice if the mexicans would clean up the corruption and horrid poverty in their own country so they can enjoy life at home,and not have to risk their lives in the desert to come here for a pittance.

if they had a better shot at life at home,and we punished the jerkoffs here that exploit them,everyone would be better off.

The answer is to liberalize immigration laws. Let people do it legally, and they won't do it illegally. That way you can ensure that criminals aren't being let in and at the same time permit the "decent hardworking people" to enter.

i agree,but i think maybe they should work to make their own country more hospitible to their own.

Are you saying that the Berlin wall didn't cut down on people getting out of the eastern bloc by a huge percentage?
Or are you saying that since the wall on the border couldn't be 100% effective (maybe only 90%) so therefor it isn't worth the effort?

Oh, it helped. But then, they were patrolled with tanks and troops. And they had the threat of Siberian death camps. Not to mention it was a much, much smaller area than the US-Mexico border.

And in the end, it failed completely.

Har! Building a wall will stop gangs, for sure. Because, ya know, only illegal immigrants form gangs in our otherwise Stepfordian American Utopia.

And also, all gang members are otherwise competent athletically except when it comes to walls - they can never get over or around those!

if the usa threw its might behind closing the border...a mouse would not get thru...but alas..the corporate assholes most of the world hate us for...wont let that happen..ironic no...everyone hates us for our basicallly corporate run gov,,,and yet,,,they are the ones most take sides with on this issue,,lol...it would be a joke if it wasn't so true....wow dont exspress my amusement.
