Teacher Apologizes For Asking Students To Write About Who They Would Kill

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- A Missouri high school teacher apologized for asking students to write about who they would kill and how they would do it.

Michael Maxwell said it was a horrible mistake he regrets, according to an Associated Press report.

Maxwell said the request to describe how students would carry out a murder was merely a writing exercise. Maxwell teaches a beginning drafting class and it was not clear why he asked the class to write fiction.

School officials in St. Joseph said the teacher will likely keep his job.

Administrators found out about the writing request when a parent filed a complaint with the principal.

A school district spokesman did not comment on possible disciplinary measures, but said the incident probably isn't serious enough to cost Maxwell his job.

This reminds me of my "I wish I had a gun" poem i wrote as a joke in class in high school. Anyone here on NS ever have any teacher give out an assignment like this or anything else equally strange???

Oh well, here's my essay.

I would kill the head(s) of CalTrans and put the State of California out of his/her/their misery. There is not a road or highway in Southern California that is drivable at this writing; bad ones are being neglected and the ones that should be left alone are being torn up for "improvements". His/her/their decisions as to what should be done, the order in which it should be done and the time (rush hour) it should be done, is psychotic. A simple 15 minute drive now takes an hour because of CalTrans. Many accidents have happened because of CalTrans: (these could have been avoided by following a simple rule: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"). For this reason I believe that the head(s) of CalTrans and, indeed, CalTrans itself, should be eliminated.

I'm afraid you wouldn't be looking at anything higher than a C for that. You've picked a worthy target and justified your answer, but you haven't said how you would carry it out. If you'd thought of some suitable or ironic method of exectution, then the mark would have been much higher. Must try harder.

I guess I'd kill some religious wacko like Osama Bin Laden or James Dobson. I guess I'd want it to happen in some way that would make their memory a joke rather than turn them into martyrs. Maybe I'd dose them with a huge ammount of ecstacy, get them involved in a gay orgy that's filmed, and have one of the gays use a sex toy on the victim that's way too big and ends up causing them to die from having their bowels perforated. The hypocracy of these "holy" men enjoying kinky gay group sex should do wonders for the organizations they started.
