He is going live and die in obscurity, isolated from his fellow human beings, never to be heard from again…

I will shed no tears for him.
Lol, the prison is called Supermax, an there's a fast food restaurant in Ireland called Super Macs. This amuses me greatly.

its not enough.
They should make sure that he has absolutely no way of commiting suicide.
And once in awhile they should give him some good ol torture.

You're just easily amused.

This is what i don't understand about those who wanted him dead. Moussaoui is a nobody in the scheme of things. In a year's time nobody will remember him. But if you put him on death row, he'll keep coming back in the news each time he appeals. If you kill him he becomes a martyr especially if you botch the execution, which happens more than occasionally with lethal injection delivered by non medical people.

You bet they will make sure of that.

Ok, someone explain this to me- why do they waste an alcohol swab on lethal injections?

Force of habit...or perhaps just in case they decide to cancel it last minute (in which case they would not want the prisoner to develop an infection).
Who cares?

And if you gave him the death penalty, you would give him what he wanted. No, a cell deep underground, locked up for 23 hours a day is a perfect sentence for him.

Humm... I wouldn't like to live for about 50 years in a room even smaller than my tiny bathroom, with no TV, no computer!! This means he won't be able to play NS... How sad.

because if they didn't the Red Cross and other humanitarian groups would sue the prision and the government for inhumane conditions and not looking out for the welfare and health of the inmates.

I'd have thought the whole lethal injection part gives some hint that they aren't 100% concerned about the welfare and health of their inmates.:)

Its a conspiracy by the capitalist alcohol swab manufacturers and phlebotimist helper's local union 482 to fleece taxpayers.
Or maybe the needle slides in easier with some alcohol for lubrication.

He gets TV and radio if he is good, but no computer. :)

of course we care about the health and welfare of our inmates on death row. we even have defibulators to revive anyone on Death Row who has a Heart attack.
Just because we sentenced them to die, doesn't mean we aren't concerned about their health.

Did you know the state cannot execute a sick prisoner? If they are sick, the state must wait until they are healthy before administering the death sentence. Go figure!

They use alcohol for two reasons. Firstly because it raises the vein and makes it easier to find(I have no idea how though) and also because of it's disinfectant properties. There have been precedents(well at least one) where a prisoner was given a stay of exectution after the needle had been inserted.

alcohol does not cause the vein to enlarge, the tight band at the top of the arm does that. it restrics the blood flow casing it to balloon and be easier to see and to target.
Lol.
I wonder though....why do we even have to pay for him after all he's done?

With any luck he will only get good reception of the 700club and the bnai brith radio hour

Because otherwise you would be no better than him.

Baccon or sausage for breakfast, a ham sandwich for lunch, and pork chops or BBQ pork ribs for supper seven days a week.
