I have more questions...Why is it a symbol of being a homosexual when a male wears pink? And why isn't it that way when a girl wears blue? And how many guys think that it has no affect on a guy's sexual orientation when he wears pink?

The pink connotation with gay men comes from the nazi badge for gays sent to concentration camps; a pink triangle.

It's nothing more than a cultural prejudice, since there is no logical reason why a man should not wear pink (or any other colour). In fact, many straight men wear pink shirts with their suits. [ yuck ]

I own a pink shirt, which I wear often. I think nothing of it when a guy wears pink.

And the thread title is so obviously a double entandre.

I love wearing pink. Not that I do anymore, I just have nothing good in pink.

you are lost in stereotype land my friend

clothing color has no bearing on sexual orientation. its a mark of immaturity for anyone to think so.

My personal opinion...

Real men can get away with wearing pink, precisely because they're not "pussies".

I haven't owned a pink shirt for a few years now, but I don't see that it automatically indicates a particular sexual orientation. I don't wear pink because it doesn't look good on me, but a couple guys I hang out with do sometimes.

As far as the reason that blue doesn't indicate homosexuality in women...well it's obvious really. Blue, while having some association in the collective culture's psyche with masculinity, does not have the same strength of association that pink does with femininity.

Like every other color, pink goes in and out of fashion for men. It was a hot color for men in the '50s and '80s. And yes, it is typically paired with black. I hear it's making a come back (it has been a while after all). But time will tell.

I don't think wearing a certain colour is indicative of your sexual preference. I personally don't wear pink because I don't actually like the colour.

Because it is unmanly.

I dislike the colour Pink and wouldn't wear it, i find it weird how many guys are now wearing Pink shirts and all in the name of fashion!

I'm wearing a white shirt with black pants now, that does that make me asexual or amoral?

Our Modern Studies teacher kept getting a ribbing for wearing pink shirts.

But basically the whole pink thing is a load of bollocks. Not that I wear pink. I just dont like it as a colour.

Pink doesn't suit my complexion. Purple, orange... green... but pink makes me look unwashed.

the color of one's clothes is nothing more than a fashion statement.

and since I have absolutly NO fashion sense... I wear mostly black.

I sometimes wear pink voluntarily and I'm in no way a homosexual. However it is funny to see the look on people's faces and on your friends when you go out wearing pink :D

I'm fine with a guy wearing a little pink once in a while (whether he's gay or not, I don't care). I know this one guy though (and as far as I know he's not gay) who wears pink nearly every day, its amasing if he's not wearing pink. It just looks terrible, he even has really pink trousers, and lots of pinks sweaters/shirts, etc. That just goes to far...

When you get compliments from people for daring to wear pink - or purple for that matter - with a suit you will change your mind. Just make sure your belt matches or shoes. That might be why it has never worked for you.
