Guitar, 5-string banjo, uke, mandolin - all to varying degrees of competence, but I'm much more at home behind a mixing desk.

w00t for the flute, and not jsut because it ryhmes, but because I play it :D At a none too shabby standard I like to think, provided I have sufficient practice with a piece before hand. And preferably if someone plays it too me - I pick up a piece much better by ear than by sight reading.

I'm 33, started with piano and violin at 5.

As for what else I can do ... ummm ... I can cook and apparently I can type (I'm as shocked as you!)

Actually, I also teach the instruments I learn. :)

Ah good good - as long as you're not one of those child geniuses (is geniuses the right word? Genii perhaps?) who can play every instrument in a full orchestra by themsellves at the same time and still make a sandwich whilst doing it... now they're show-offs :D Like my friends - can play pretty much anything that can make a sound, to a depressingly high level, and he's only fifteen. Even so, compelte legend, so he can get away with it :D

And cooking and typing are fine :D If you could... I dunno do complex quantum physics, or assemble barrels or something as well that'd be too much awesome for one person.

I don't play anything, at least not anymore, I used to be able to play the Tuba but those days are long gone. I keep meaning to learn guitar but I am just too lazy to actually do it.

Your poll doesn't have an "other" option. I play handbells, as well as flute. But only enough piano to pick out a melody line.

I've run across some of those in my time. I like to look the little brats in the eye and say, "You know what prodigy means? It means you'll know as an adult exactly how much you knew as a child."

Viola! Shame it was put with violin in the poll. Violins just can't measure up to the awesomnitude of violas.

clarinet and bass clarinet... but im phasing out the bass clarinet. if there's an instrument that can lower your state of well-being, it's the bass clarinet. then again, it's a lot better than the clarinet in terms of manliness.

i'm getting a tenor sax or acoustic guitar as soon as I can afford to. I want the sax 'cause it sounds so much better, but the guitar is a lot cheaper.

I can play the piano pretty decently, as it was my first instrument (I took lessons from some books when I was 9).

Drumming is natural to me because of my sense of rhythm. Complex time signatures are no problem. Now, I haven't actually played the drums; I beat on various surfaces with my hands. Similar mechanics, so with some practice, I could be really good at the drums.

Voice... My music teachers always said I had a really good voice. Of course, I'm 18 and not nearly finished growing, so my voice doesn't have too much range in the high areas.

As for the guitar: I was learning and getting pretty good at a few songs, but that stopped when my dad went and pawned his Jasmine Takamine Classical acoustic. My sister let me borrow her Fender acoustic for a while, but since she took it back, I haven't played one since. And that was in September of last year.

As for me, I can play the drums. Unlike most drummers around where I live, though, I can actually read the notes. :p

i've played guitar since the age of nine. generally play spanish guitar and blues (i have a nylon string acoustic so the playing style is finger picking rather than strumming and using a plectrum). i have an electric guitar but havn't played it for years. never really got the hang of rhythm guitar and i'm not motivated enough to teach myself lead. what i really want is to get a resonator guitar (http://www.guitarshop.net/johnsonjm993.htm)and maybe i can teach myself slide but they'r well expensive. one day...

I'd like a resonator as well, but I get a pretty cool slide blues sound from my nylon electric/acoustic - I tune it to open G or F, crank up the reverb, a teeny bit of drive on the amp, and let go. :)

Oh, that sucks. I put all my savings away for a couple of months to get myself a kickass tube amp a while ago, and i don't regret it. Got two pedals, a Electro Harmonix Distortion that I use when I want to play crazy-heavy stuff, and a Boss Chorus Ensemble that is somewhat less useful. My electric is only average (Cort X-2), but the gear compensates. My main nylon acoustic is decent though.
